Would be nice if Sena offered more sizing options. I think this is something I would get for my kids when we go biking together. Good way to be able to communicate with them if they are up ahead or behind. And if they fell off their bike and got hurt we would all know and not find out later.

The inner 'harness' has a thumbwheel that has some range. I would get larger size since it can be adjusted. Plus, you may wear cold weather head gear and need the extra room.

This helmet will obviously appeal to commuters,couples and the new Covid riders new to cycling. Trail and Enduro Mtn bike riders will probably stick with name brand helmets with MIPS and full face options. The led brake light with accelerometer is around $40

Accelorometer? It gets brighter when you slow down? Not really useful on the trail. On the road, useless too. Better that it's flashing.

No. It's one or the other unfortunately. We sometimes use Airpods with this helmet and it works very well.

@@MtbrVideos Someone mentioned elsewhere you can listen to music from your phone and use intercom feature at the same time with the R1 but not the R1 EVO. Do you know if this is true? Also, do you know if the intercom range is equivalent between the R1 and R1 EVO?

What s the size did you take for your helmet, is it an L . The M1 looks like it sits better than the R1 though

Can you guys tell me what the major difference between the M1 Evo vs the R1 Evo. There is not that many videos or review on the M1 Evo but watching yours I really can't tell the difference between the two models other than - included visor for M1 Evo and 3 color choices. Any info is greatly appreciate!!

The big difference is the technology. M1/R1 helmets use bluetooth, and can connect to one another, up to a maximum of 4 people being connected. If one person leaves the group, the whole group loses communication. M1 EVO and R1 EVO use mesh technology and can also connect to each other. They can connect to an unlimited amount of riders, and if 1 person loses connection, or leaves the group, the others stay connected. The Sena website has a pretty good video describing the differences in the technologies. And lastly - you cannot connect any bluetooth helmet with any mesh helmet - it doesn't work.

Not for loners, but ideal for people with a less confident riding partner, spouse or grom. Great to have this as an option.

The Main drawing point when eye look for bike helmet protection rating....Is it MIPS/NTA 8776 safety rated?...F/R light 2d. BT/speakers, etc., etc....are All ancillary benefits

@@greggk1061 It's one thing to be on the trails with friends, something I enjoy and generally prefer, its quite another to take the glory of nature and taint it with unnecessary digital "connections". We've got Pelotons and Zwift for that...
