Some pro tips that I suffered through after digging through forums. 1- the wifi adapter can only use a 2.4ghz wifi network. Ensure your 2.4ghz wifi has no special characters in the SSID or password. This was huge. 2- There is a new Sena app, which I tried using. It crashed during network detection over and over. I used the OLD app called Sena 50 Utility. It worked easily! 3- Lights on the adapter: Left light red = Sena unit is not fully charged (not a big deal unless it's almost dead.) Right light will be red (no network connection) when new, then after successfully connecting to wifi, it will turn solid blue now and every time you power the dongle on. (If it loses connection in the future, factory reset the unit and start over.) Most importantly, if the center light becomes flashing blue, DO NOT disconnect anything because the firmware update is in progress. When update is complete, center flashing blue light will become solid and only then can you disconnect. Best of luck!

Hi zman, thanks for the input. i am also stuck at the same issue "no networks found" with the new SENA app "motorcycleapp" on iphone and the support is unable to help. Very bad quality of the app and of the support person.

I was not sure about the WiFi adapter's purpose. So you are saying it's for keeping the device updated while charging it. I could easily keep my SENA device updated with my PC. I guess this is neat if you're not much on your computer. Or you keep your helmet in your garage at all times when not riding.

The wifi dongle is for the purpose of upcoming the device firmware only. Any other C-type plug can charge your Sena.

Do you happen to know if it’ll also update the 30K? Mine won’t take computer updates for some reason.

Hi, this app is no longer available for iphone. The new one is calles motorcycleapp and does not find your wifi networks. I am stuck here and SENA support is unable to understand the issue or give any help.

I am having the same problem..my 50c won't connect to WiFi, tried factory reset multiple times..nothing & no help..I'm so bloody angry at Sena

What a horrible system sena decided to use... So the phone is connected at all times via blue tooth.. But we have to back door Wi-Fi into the head unit to update.. Yet my rc car esc's can update via blue.. I could never get my Wi-Fi to connect to my pixel 4 so I just use it with out the update and it works fine. Sena is garbage I really wish someone would make some competition for them so we aren't stuck with old ass tech

interestingly there is competition, have a look at the Cardo Packtalk Bold. you'll be surprised.

I agree with you. This is some bmw/Ktm engineering (complicating it for no reason). This probably sounded good in the early days of design but is an absolute terror. I install network servers for a living and this is some proprietary nonsense made so they can sell us a $60 cable when some update comes out that prevents us from connecting to senas that are lucky and without complications!

@@kiwiridermag yeah iv since then swapped over to cardo. So much nicer and the speakers are so much better than the crackly sena ones
