Senate Republicans killed a measure to ban bump stocks on Tuesday following last week's Supreme Court decision that threw out the Trump administration-era ban. Bump stocks enable semi-automatic weapons to shoot at a very rapid pace, more like a machine gun. CBS News congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane reports.

Ban “weapons of war” such as AK 47s, etc. Then the boys who never grew up (and harp about “the right to bear arms”) will be more inclined to join the military where their juvenile fantasies can meet the actual needs of defending our country.

@@vinny06299trump still has one of three guns that he was supposed to give up in Florida. Felons aren’t allowed to own guns, but he hasn’t handed it over yet. Therefore he’s currently breaking another federal law.

@@Boredchinchilla It's a sentence. The first phrase in the sentence is mostly irrelevant. The last phrase is the meat of the overall assertion. You can regulate the militia all you like, any way you like, but: the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

14th amendment section 1 No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the united states Congress has no legal lawful constitutional authority or jurisdiction to ban or outlaw any gun or gun parts whatsoever under the constitution of the united states of America supreme law of the land. All senators, congressmen, governor's are all state officials elected to a specific state.

That's why Congress was trying to pass a law to make them illegal. Which is exactly what the supreme Court said. They said that Congress has the power to make them illegal. But for some insane reason, Republicans are against making an item that can only be utilized for mass shooting illegal. Because they're getting paid. Dirty

So…didn’t read about the case or watch the vid? The SC ruled that they couldn’t be made illegal by executive order but could be restricted by legislation. That’d be Congress. The Dems didn’t expect support but rather wanted republican senators on the record with their vote. Just like 47 voted against IVF and 39 voted against contraception. Making those numbers public is the entire point.

Look, I lean more left, but I don't see any problem with bump stocks. I am a fire arm guy, and I have shot with and without bump stocks. I rather not have one because it's way more accurate without it and my trigger finger is fast, so all the bump stock does for me is mess me up.

Bump stocks because they are not legal in many states along with other things like magazine capacity may not affect many blue states but red may lose quite a number. My state had a max capacity of 10 for magazines for many years, not that will stop idiots but makes it tougher to get them.

I mean Im all for guns. I Just don’t believe the market should be flooded with full auto’s. Some people do. Full auto’s are not efficient at close quarters home defense. There is a legitimate use for a bump stock, our borders are completely open and just letting people in we need to be able to protect ourselves from enemies both foreign and domestic.
