In this video I explain the issues encountered with attempting to use this Sender. It does not work properly when installed in a Super Beetle tank.. I am using a 7.5 v Regulator/stabilizer and a calibrated gauge.

it's the cutaway tank! gauge did make it to a full tank but wow that sender was off.

Yep finally got a messed up SB tank and cut it... Then took 2 known good OEM senders to make the little stands so I knew where each leven was... R-1/4 - 1/2 - full. That way I could test various non OEM senders and gauges.

@@redshirt-scotty Haw, school teacher! Wife retired a few years back. A lifelong teacher. HS at first then worked her way down and finished her last 9 years doing Kindergarten... She still tutors and just loves education. Youngest son is also an elementary teacher. Me, a retired everything to deal with electronics and mechanical engineering. Nice day here too. I took my 69 Baja out for a ride and to the store...

@@vwbeetlefuelgaugesystem actually, i'm a 57yo phd grad student in computer science. i'm grading homework for a class called discrete math. the subject is quantifiers and predicates. things like there exists a number such that all other numbers multiplied by that number produce the second number. next to impossible to grade due to some off the complexity. i'm giving participation points for one problem.

Oldest son works for Mentor Graphics in the Calibre division. www.mentor.com/products/ic_nanometer_design/verification-signoff/ Masters in CS.. His mentor and boss is the late Laurence Grodd. One of the fathers of the HP calculator that was way more that a math device. You probably know some of the facts about that. I was in the IBM mainframe world and ran an electronic engineering repair business sold it . 69-02 etc for over 30 years. I retired to rebuild an old home and be the Gardner, carpenter, plumber, mechanic, electrician.. I am lucky to have my health and still have a great interest in tech and older vehicles. Along with that I did 4 years in the Navy 65-69. Anti Submarine Warfare in a Patrol Squadron of P3 orions. I was a tech and operator.
