Mr. T was just such an amazing horse! His understanding, finesse, and respect for you! One in a million for sure! Much respect for you Rick, and Mr. T. I honestly think if you were a horse, it would be much like your Tanner! 🖤🤎🖤👨🏼‍🌾🐴

Good old Mr T, he was a wonderful teacher. You could always rely on him to dish out some horsey wisdom. I like that you talked about how horses don't care about the huggy and kissy stuff. We can train horses to accept it, and I think they even come to understand what we intend by it (i.e. that we are showing our love and reassurance). But we are deluding ourselves if we think they enjoy it.

I like listening to you explain horse language. Like when you hit the rope and he flinched, and then you explained everything. I hope I'll be able to remember all this when I start trying to have horses. It's one thing to sit on KZbin and listen, but it's another when you're actually standing in front of the animal. I guess that's probably when everything will make sense.

ANY interaction with Rick, Buddy, Mr T, Mokey, Stevie, Mama Rabbit, the “stray dogs” or roadside stops to visit critters is just magical! He’s just someone who understands animals & how they think. It’s absolutely breathtaking to watch him communicate w/the boys💜

In Polish language there are actually two words which distinguish exactly what kind of "respect" it is, the one which requires a bit of fear and the other connected to ones wisdom, old age etc. Having an English equivalents would save you lots of time here, lol! Great video, and now I'm shutting up and starting to watch & learn more.

I don't really give a shit what you like. I don't like people making BS comments about their feelings, this is not your pink couch for counseling or for sharing how you feel. Save that for your barn drama buddies. Don't hit play and don't come back, pretty simple - even for you.

I just want to thank you for all your time you give to teach us about horses and how to think like them. I want a horse someday, but I know I'm definitely not ready to own one. I have so much to learn and I'm so glad I found your channel! Everything you say makes so much sense, so I don't get why people give you so much crap. Thanks!

Good learning video thank you!!!!! I truly wish I could own a horse and really it would not be fair for a horse due to the fact I don't have time to devote to a horse. In order for me to feel as I was not being a bad owner I would have to devote time every day and I just do not have that much time in my life right now. I refuse to be one of those people who only works with a horse on the weekends. That's a no brainer for me. And that's not to mention I could not afford all the vet bills and everything else that goes with it financially. I wish I could own actually two horses but unfortunately right now I can't. So I will continue to watch your videos and enjoy and learn from them. Thank you Mr.T, Buddy and of course Rick. Have a good day guys. Ron.....

I correct my dog seriously a couple times, then its done. Then she gets a lot more freedom because I know she will listen if a situation arises. I'm still working on the horse thing though, minute 7:30 to 40 or so, is me. thanks for the great videos.

I agree totally I have a pitbull who is definitely my dog she tolerates everyone but she won't listen to them. my fiance can tell her something and she ignores him. if I give her a command she does it immediately it's lack of respect for everyone else. she loves them but she knows they won't make her listen.

Rick, You are an amazing natural horseman, I liked the way you train them with confidence and ease and in a practical and simple way without the bs of horsewhisperers. I get a kick when you crack jokes on how people do things even though I will not do that. I would like to stress a point that if people can see above the jokes that you make and follow your advice very carefully they can learn a lot and can give a good life to their horses and enjoy the ride.

But if my boy is not listening by me asking to pick up hoof.. normal checks i send him away.. off rope halter like you did in this recording.. he ends up doing circles around me until i ask him to stand.. i had him 10 yrs.. i have not had to do any thing else ..

People interfering at barns are the reason i wont ride other peoples horses and i rarely ride my own horses around other people. I have no need to and i got sick of their interferance. They live on about 13 acres with 3 other horses in a huge field where we have a good 6 acres either side of us thats private and no one else comes. Funnily enough since i stopped doing things around 98% of people ive not had a stupid accident or had to go to hospital for a horse related incident. Everyone i know who had their horses alone is injured less than people of similar experience levels that keep their horse at certain yards and barns.

Wow. Mr. T is one stunning horse. Great info as always. Question....the few times I've been on a horse, I was a little nervous (now I feel bad for those horses, I was clueless) and when I'm nervous and alone I tend to talk a lot. So I talked to the horses while riding, just random nothingness, no commands or anything they needed to know. Now that I've been watching your videos, looking back, I'm guessing I was confusing the crap out of the poor horses? It's better to just sit/ride quietly (even if I'm not nervous)? Thx Rick! Good boy Mr T

Humans have to learn to be a fair leader. I think the hardest things for a human to learn is to get rid of their ego and fear. Being the Boss equals being abusive. You can not teach Feel. Either someone has it or they don't. Some may understand it in time, if they are a rounded enough different horses and are really listening to the horse. People need the training not the horse.

@seanperkins4204
@seanperkins4204 6 жыл бұрын
Colleen E I realize it’s been 6 months but in case you’re still wondering, it’s his BLM (Bureau of Land Management) Mustang freeze brand. It is a set unique symbols that can be deciphered to detail Mr. T’s birth year, sex, markings, color, etc. All wild horses and burros captured on public land by the BLM are given these brands. Best regards...

Rick never said abuse a horse, it's the same concept as parenting. I have never abused my son. I give him clear guidelines but he knows if he ever hits me mom is going to put a boot in his ass. Is he going to get mad and want to hit me yes I am sure but fear of what will happen if he ever puts his hands on me stops him.

I just got my first horse and the main issue I've had with her is that people from the past babied her and my family baby her. With me, she's starting to respect me (sorry, I prefer the term respect xD) but it's a slow process as I'm still learning too. Anyway, would it interfere with me and her working together if my parents only ever harass her by scratching her and cuddling her and squaring off on her and genuinely not knowing what to do except for that?
