First, and foremost, THANK YOU for doing a 'running' video. As I'm sure many others are, I'm tired of videos of people worker comparing the Ryft to the SCX10 or [fill in the name of your favorite crawler], or those running it as if it's a crawler (people...it's a rock bouncer, NOT a crawler). So, again, on behalf of all those wanting to see a running video of the Ryft being used as it was designed, I thank you. Regarding the sway bar problems, trailing arm problems, axle problems, and many other problems, there's a solution - 7075 machined parts from Vitavon Racing. That should solve most problems.

I'm running the same ESC/motor and find a single speed 14T pinion with locked diffs will crawl pretty good and still send it launching into the air up hills. Top speed is still faster then I can control. Plus you get more runtime from your batteries!

@RCAdventuresAmsterdam3 жыл бұрын
Nice run! I used a metal sway bar for my ryft but it kept coming out at the sides. After experimenting with different shock placements I found that attaching the rear shocks to the rear axle housing lowered the vehicle as well as made it more stable. Plus I added ~100g of lead weight in the fuel box so that the wheels bite the ground and there is better power transfer. This removed the sway problem for me. I also broke the rod ends on mine. Really difficult to get a hold of these spares in the Netherlands. I am going to get metal after market rod ends for it soon. Hope this helps you. Keep RCing Cheers!

@UKPhoto1113 жыл бұрын
Have you tried a Losi Lasernut yet? They look pretty out there fast, but probably less of a crawler than the Ryft.
@NCmountainsYouTubeChannel3 жыл бұрын
O yea 👍
@resort2yourself3 жыл бұрын
So by removing the 2 speed does that mean you are stuck with the gear ratio meant for speed? Disappointed with the crawling attempt but even with lower gearing, the diffs wouldn’t help. Then you lock all diffs and how much would the high speed/ low speed steering suffer? Not to mention the extra stress on the diff gear. All that said this thing still looks awesome and something I may purchase soon.

That little bomber has great balance. Would you say this or the crawler is more enjoyable? Been thinking about a crawler, like the SCX10.3 in a 6x6 configuration, for kicks.
@dacountryone Жыл бұрын
I have both,I would have to say a crawler is WAY more fun...more of a challenge.the Ryft will basically go anywhere you point it.i built my Ryft to handle both situations crawling and bashing.i will say crawling equals WAY LESS broken parts,but to each its own.

Man girl your bashin the ryft hard haha love it!! I have the exact same motor with the mamba x. I run exclusively 4s. I love 13t pinion and do all most all my driving in 1st gear. I just did a speed test on pavement and got 25mph in first and 40mph in 2nd. I’m confident on the 2nd gear test but on the 2nd and 3rd test I spun wildly out of control and have now bent a axle shaft. It’s so fast omg!

😂🤦🏼♀️
@maccam26 Жыл бұрын
So with 13T it helps it manage lower speed sort of crawl better ? Should also be easier on the motor and increase torque correct?
@44punisherable2 жыл бұрын
Nice review and probably the only one that doesn't involve a bent shock shaft. Just ordered mine the other day, really looking forward to building it! How's it holding up to this day and what have you changed?
@christophedecavalla29413 жыл бұрын
Seems well balanced as it comes down but definitely not going to last like your crawler.

I've been working on an all metal wraith build to rock bounce. 5700kv brushless setup on 2s is killing internal axle parts. How do the axles compare to a wraith? I'm running some slightly larger than ryft 2.2 tall narrow super swamper tsl tires.

What sweet little spot to run👍✌️🤙 hey how do you like the copperhead esc? I been running the mamba x8s in everything but I saw this copperhead looks pretty sweet
@RCGirl3 жыл бұрын
It's great. It's a mid tier ESC but has all the functionality i need. Compared with some of the other castle esc, this one doesn't have an AUX port, so no on the fly adjustment of drag brake (or other settings). Nothing against the ESC, but it's a bit hard to access in the ryft, so making minor adjustments requires taking off the entire cage, tires, and getting into the receiver box etc. so anAUX function may be nice.
