I don't understand what's going on with the multi pump guns . I have a izh46m pistol . If you pump it one time you get 500 fps . Why in the hell does it take 5 pumps just to get to 500 fps with this rifle that has a cocking arm that's 10x longer than the pistol ? Why don't you take the izh46m apart and see how the Germans are getting 500 fps with single short pump . There is no reason with the length of the cocking arm you couldn't get at least the same as a pistol with one pump . If you ask me its got to be a stupid design . Come on Air Venturi get your heads out of your asses . Even the 30 year old daisy 717 air pistol gets 400 fps with a single pump . This new rifle is ridiculous and should be getting 900 fps with 3 pumps max .

"Why don't you take the izh46m apart and see how the Germans are getting 500 fps with single short pump" The izh46m is a Russian air pistol, not German. Forgot to add, the Seneca Mk2 can achieve up to 950 fps with .177 and 800 fps with .22

Because the .22 caliber air rifle, with about a 20 inch barrel has 3 times the volume of a .177 barrel with a 10 inch barrel (I'm guessing the barrel lengths, but is relevant). So it will take more air to push the .22 pellet out of the rifle barrel at the same velocity. The amount of air released when the pistol is discharged will not push the pellet halfway down the barrel, much less out of the barrel at 500 fps. Sort of like why one gallon of gas won't fill up a 3 gallon gas can until it overflows.
