is it better you think than medieval dynasty? as far as replayability and longevity goes? I have 400 hrs in MD and I bought SD but deciding if its worth the switch to invest time into at this current state
@GoblinGaming133 күн бұрын
@@Deepblue417 Current state I'd say it's not as good as Medieval Dynasty, because it may lack some endgame activities - the game is still in "early stages" of updates. I'd say it is still worth giving a try, play it for a few hours and see if it has an appeal for you. For now though, it's still a bit away from MD in terms of content.

I had zero bugs after 25 hours. I think it depends on the computer you have. If you have a decent gaming computer, you might but if you have a pretty new computer, this game runs great. Graphics are amazing, Gameplay if top notch. I was obsessed with Medieval Dynasty and I LOVED IT. I didn't think there would a game that could top it but this game is better. The story is just OK, but other than that, I actually get excited to play every day. I am 45 and I LOVE THIS GAME. I am sad that it hasn't got more attention. It deserves it. This review didn't touch base on the realism with the culture. Everything from the plants, types of trees, and the number of dishes you can make and eat has to be in the hundreds. The houses, the wood/bamboo, types of plants, clothes and the story, is very authentic. Overall I would give this game a 9/10 if you are in to these types of games. I love to chop trees, mine, hunt, and build my home and town. If you like games like Enshrouded, The Forest, Conan, Valheim, Green Hell, etc... this will be right up your alley. Trust me.
@GoblinGaming1313 күн бұрын
It's true, I didn't mention the realism this game definitely has, thank you for telling me, I think I can incorporate that in my videos! The devs are actually really nice and they listen to their community, I saw the fixes are coming out pretty fast for all the bugs too.

I load my old village as I did't want to spend all that time again from scratch. But in late game, it feels bit empty still. I have huge village of 50 people surrounded with walls at the hilltop where the best trees grow and would be nice if raids would occur.
@GoblinGaming13Ай бұрын
Raids should be coming pretty soon, they are necessary because otherwise building walls and stuff doesn't really make sense unless you want nice aesthetics.
@lennyteske186414 күн бұрын
That is awesome! I bet that took forever! I am getting to the point, 25 hours or so, where I need to get copper and bronze tools but haven't figured out how to unlock them yet. I added a smelter as furniture in my crafting hut but it won't let me smelt the copper for some reason even though I have the copper in my inventory. It just won't let me select it. I don't think I have figured out how to do it or have a villager do it for me. That is the one bad thing about this game, there just isn't a ton out there on the internet yet for walkthroughs and asking questions. I hope it grows in popularity fast!

Honestly, pretty much yes. There are very minor differences, I'm excited to see if they'll expand on the game. It is very addicting though.
@azhockeynut8297Ай бұрын
I think it is different, similar yet different. The quests are more to unlock thing rather than just to do things. There are far more bandits and volume of bad guys because combat is a big part of this yet is not part really at all in MD (hunting is not combat for me). Also, there are more villages and POI as well as the "sense" of community because of the storyline here. I have them both with hundreds of hours each. Yet I like them both for different reasons.
@GoblinGaming13Ай бұрын
@@azhockeynut8297 I do like the more villages and POI a lot, also later on when you have more than one village it's pretty awesome. It does differ itself enough from Medieval Dynasty to justify the purchase.
@SuperSkrullzАй бұрын
can you play it differently? like not building a village (just on your own)?
@GoblinGaming13Ай бұрын
You'd limit yourself a lot since special projects for unlocking new tools and stuff require villagers to work on them. Technically you could, but only for a challenge. If building a whole village isn't your style I'd recommend Survival: Fountain of Youth, with demo available on Steam.

I haven't had the performance issues either, and I don't have anywhere near a top of the line system. That seems to be hit or miss with people. Not sure why. I'm about 30 hours in (less than a week) and it's an extremely immersive game. Landscapes and music are gorgeous. I've lost many hours just wandering the landscape for no particular reason. That said, the character models aren't diverse at all, which is one thing I hope they develop more in the near future. This game is probably not quite as advanced as Medieval Dynasty was when it transitioned from early access to full release, but I'd say it's not too far behind. I think this will end up being one of my long term mainstay games alongside Medieval Dynasty and Bellwright. If you want a Japanese themed builder, this is the best I've seen.
@GoblinGaming13Ай бұрын
The landscapes really are amazing right? Especially from some higher points where you can just observe. I'd be a bit wary of Bellwright because the devs have a bit of a bad reputation of abandoning games, although it does look nice for now.
@azhockeynut8297Ай бұрын
been playing for hundreds of hours and have not seen the performance issues you are referring to. not sure why I have a mid tier system myself.
@GoblinGaming13Ай бұрын
I'd say you're pretty lucky in that regard then :). In all seriousness though I did try it both recording and completely turning off recording and GeForce experience and still got some issues. For some time I suspected the game might have memory leak somewhere but wasn't able to confirm it 100%. In the end, it did take a bit out of the enjoyment but not nearly enough to not recommend the game.
@azhockeynut8297Ай бұрын
@@GoblinGaming13 I don't record, so I could see that hurting performance for some, especially if one records to the same disk as one is playing on. The only major issue I have seen, and to me it is minor, is sometimes it can take a second to load in a new area fully. But to me many games are like this and maybe I am just used to it. Great bid by the way!

I like Sengoku Dynasty a lot, since the first previews it improved a ton. It does feel a little rushed however, I would prefer if they delayed the full release a bit. My biggest gripe is the AI of enemies. Sometimes they work fine, their intentions are fairly smart for a smaller title, the problem is they absolutely do not understand the terrain. So I ran around with stone arrows and a copper yari like a god of death itself, because bears and bandits regularly derp out on rocks and you just need to hide behind one and shoot them dead. They will just stand there and make no attempt to navigate around terreain, even if all they need is to step to the side once or twice. And of course, as is typically the case in games, they cant see anything beyond 30m away, even on open field. Also, last time I played, the system to free regions was not in place yet. It is fairly obvious that this part was added to an otherwise finished design, with pieces only being reshuffled to support it, the game was not designed with this system in mind. It is a great idea, but it is shoved into quests and progression so that I have no clue what unlocks which technology and why. One item I can only access in stone, one in bronze, one in steel and in some cases master variant is unlocked, if only I could get hold of some rare resource. The weird mismatch in technology is locked behind liberation of a random half empty region that has nothing whatsoever to do with metallurgy and therefore can't explain why I can make steel naginata, but only bronze pickaxe. I have never seen such illogical progression system in games. I think it's not far from being good but it needed a bit more of a high level rework, not just moving existing bits around in confusing ways.
@GoblinGaming13Ай бұрын
Ha, totally true on the AI, I mentioned it in the review too. Sometimes they just stop doing anything and you can either hack or shoot them to death. That is one of the problems, especially when you want to test yourself against multiple enemies and it does feel a bit cheap to win like that. For the region unlocks, yeah they are a bit arbitrary, unlocking bronze sword was literally just build a tower, but bronze pick axe requires you to defeat the bandit leader AND build a watchtower. They are planning to re-do the maps and enemies so there's hope. I'd still recommend the game because it's just so much fun even with problems present.
