Senior cuts or gentlemens cuts, are a real education. So much hair that doesn’t want to lay down, it helps you learn to blend hair above #3 guards. I enjoy these haircuts and sending these guys out the door with a sharp haircut.

I live in Scotland and I wish I could find a barber like you. I am 65 and I need a barber that actually listens to me! My last haircut was November and I am still growing out the neck taper that I didn’t ask for. I don’t intend to get another haircut until April and I reckon by then it will be back to where I started. Just because a guy goes to a barber it doesn’t mean he wants to come out looking like he is going to fight in WW1 trenches!

This video was super helpful! I did my father’s (who is a senior citizen 👨🏽‍🦳) haircut tonight and it came out great! I did a scissor over comb, 0 degree cut, 45 degree cut (only at the nape), 90 degree (with horizontal and vertical sections) and then used the clippers to clean around the nape area. I paid special attention to the hairline and to keep the hair a little long to sweep over the bald spots and he was satisfied! I’m going to go in again and use your method next haha I’m excited to learn men’s haircuts although I’m studying cosmetology

Beautifully done my guy. Glad to see someone do stuff like this. More than not it’s always typical tapers fades etc. But this was great. I’d like to see your “barber dos and don’ts”. Punctuality, Getting to knowing your clients when possible, first name basis goes a LONG way. Product preferences. Anything like that. Apart from the obvious haircut itself part. In other words all the stuff that comes along with being an elite quality barber.

Also not just you being on point with appointment but letting it be known that your time is just as valuable as theirs. How do you go about handling those situations. Something else you can do, after you do that number 6 guard, which will set a baseline, get that comb out and clipper over comb the rest of the hair matching it to the base line, then shorten up where you need to and refine with blending scissor over comb

I don’t like using either of those techniques, too much room for error. Nothing worse then being almost finished with a cut and taking one lick too short with clipper over comb.

Clipper over comb can easily end up too short if you’re not careful. I like using techniques that leave little room for error

in the uk a pensioner haircut is usually done with scissors only some older gents do not even like the trimmers around the ears i think the US are betting at fading and the UK is better at scissor work in my opinion
