So I had a lovely tiny dog she had diabetes and was blind and quite old at this point, my neighbors got a Retriever and he used to jump through our hedge to say hi to my dog but he terrified her and I would have to grab him once he came out and just hold on to his collar to let my dog do her business in piece, she passed away and the dog kept coming in to see me every time I went out the back it was like he sensed how awful I was feeling and just was the best comapny. A week after I offered to walk him he passed away as well. Love em while you've got em.

When my golden passed away at age 11, it was before computers. I keep her close to me with made-up passwords for various sites with some version of her name, with numbers and special symbols added. She is never out of my mind and is with me daily because of this. Every time I log on, she's there.

We Fostered our golden when he was 12 he is now 16 and going strong and never leaving us! He also loves picking up his lead and stuffed toys! He brings us presents everytime we walk through the front door or when we come down stairs after a long time! PLEASE give sinior dogs a chance they are beautiful wise souls! We love our Sammy!

sometimes dogs don't need a "higher" reason, they just meet someone they love instantly. my dog is a bit "special" , he is a livestock guard dog and thats a kind of dog that doesn't bond easy to more than one person. He also had a very rough past which made it even more difficult to gain his trust. He comes to work with me now and is fine with all people at work but there are only 4 people apart from me that can move freely at my home (it doesn't matter if he knows them or not, if I don't stop him he won't let anyone walk freely apart from "the 4" ).Two of them are my elderly parents. Dogs seek out people, they feel, are absolutely true to themselves and the people around them because they can read, understand and predict those people and that makes them (rightfully) feel safe. Dogs like/love people that are true and real

OMG, another more than precious story of s Goldie. If I would not be considered the “old dog lady” and had a billion in the bank I could easily 💗 and care for a herd of Goldies, 10 of them would not be a problem at all. Such sweet, kind, loving, easily spoiled, helpful, even-tempered, always smiling fluffs of fur. You know that somewhere under that coat, there is a heartbeat that can only spread love to everyone that they meet.

I have my senior right next to me in his bed. We adopt seniors who no one seems to want. Everyone seems to want a puppy or a dog who will have a long life with them. But, seniors are special; they seem to appreciate what you're doing for them in their last years. We're on our 6th! You can find a rescue for any breed online in your state!

My cat Logan was like that. He would go down the hallway of our apartment building a cry until my neighbors came out to give him love. He’d never met them before and neither had I, we ended up forming a great relationship and they mourned with me when Logan passed...some animals must love being social I guess :)

Cheddar is lovely. I had a beautiful golden retriever like Cheddar for 15 years! He was my baby! Still miss him. My brother gifted me a beautiful little headstone with his name on it. I never got another dog and I'm the world's greatest dog lover IMO!! It really truly broke my heart when he passed in my arms. I let a little bit of me go with him. I'm inntears just thinking.. Fair play to you taking on Cheddar. Guess his owners were older...but they're clever. He knows who adopted him!! I don't know you but I love you for doing that! They're a handful!!😊 And look at the happiness he's brought to you r neighbors. God works in strange ways. Animals have souls! Fact How sweet! He's so like my baby. I wish you happiness n health xx.
