For what its worth, I see you being very successful in whatever fiber related career you get into. I can’t believe you don’t have much more subscribers! People are missing out on seeing an authentic, positive, hardworking, creative, person you are. You are inspiring me just to try more fiber related things in my own home. Your videos documenting your education are eye-opening to anyone who ever wanted to, dreamed of, or was inspired to choose this path. I think your videos will be really helpful in procuring you the job of your dreams. What employer wouldn’t want someone who is so experienced and talented as we’ve seen. I’m nobody but every time I watch your videos I feel like you are well on your way to being a super successful fiber artist. Your smile and your thumbs up are great and have encouraged me to keep making art in my own way. I wish you all the best, you are very talented all the way around.

I have been involved with wool for over 50 years. It has always been my passion. I even raised cross bred sheep to have the perfect fiber for my work. I had a small wool business for 50 years. I raised two kids, had a dog grooming business, dairy farmed for 40 years. I have been a care giver for my husband for the last five years. I have lost my moe joe, I’m numb. You give me spark. Thank you. Your education for now is great… but your imagination and free spirit is what will feed your soul and pleasure. Fly! Your videos are wonderful…. I think I will go and enjoy some dying today. 🥰👍😎🐑🐑

Oof - that perfectionist paralysis is so real, and such a drain on creativity! Glad you were able to bust through and have some fun. Also - those m&ms and your kitten! 😻

I’m so interested in the process that even when you say you aren’t happy with something, I’m super interested to hear your thoughts on why. I loved seeing the warp painting especially. I love your videos! You’re awesome and doing fabulous work, even the stuff you’re not happy with is valuable because it helps you hone in on what you’ll do differently. It’s such an important part of deepening our knowledge bases.

You and your work are always fabulous. I'm so happy you were reminded how much better you FEEL, when you remember: "No rules, no mistakes. Just weave, joyfully." Happy creating!

I hear ya on scarcity mindset! Don't worry about us, we are definitely cheering you on no matter what. I wouldn't be surprised if your playful scarf sampling method made it into the school's curriculum, not just your thesis project. Hey, I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up teaching at FIT. You're amazing. Own it!

Andrea we all have weeks our stress is up I appreciate anything you put up regardless if you think its not great please do not stress about your "off week" videos they are always so well made and a nice watch. ❤ Just keep doing what you do you, always sound so upbeat even on a stressful week and yes it is fine to not always be up beat, the acetate is a great idea and some amazing weaves. Even if your video was short we would watch and like.

Every time I watch one of your vlogs my brain wants to weave. And then I don't. And then you have a new vlog and... it is an endless cycle, which I can probably only break by actually warping my loom...

Your energy is so infectiously positive and your content is somehow inspiring and calming at the same time. I've laarned more about woven textiles in the last few days than in my entire life! Thanks for the videos and good luck with your senior year 💕

I enjoy ALL of your videos, but this one I especially liked. I can completely relate to the feelings you were having about your thesis project. You analyzed them very clearly. I had a similar experience when doing my Master's Thesis. Your advisor sounds like a wise person, and likely is an artist himself and understands what you were dealing with. You have clearly proven your ability to follow the instructions beautifully, so encouraging you to return to what you love was a brilliant thing for him to do. I am a spinner and weaver myself, on a Saori loom, so watching your amazing scarf develop was a true pleasure.

All these different processes your going through are so interesting. I really enjoy your videos. That second sample piece you did at the beginning of the video is great! The pattern looks like little Moroccan Lanterns. When school is done, and you have time for something new, I'd love to see you do a more in depth video on that style of scarf. Great job so far. Can't wait to see the final results. You got this!!

I learned finger fringes from you and I love them. It is so fun to weave them wider and join them, then split them in a different place and make all sorts of unplanned slits etc. Sorry you were having such a difficult time in March. Something must have been in the air, March was rough for me as well.

The scarf is amazing. I think we can all relate to the "I don't want to waste it" mentality that gets in the way of just doing stuff. From the use of acid in the dye, was this a protein (wool) warp? Did you have to steam it once it was off the loom in order to set it? I've not tried painint a warp on the loom, which is why I ask. Thanks!
@resourcedragon
@resourcedragon Ай бұрын
Seems to me that your creativity works much better if you are able to sit down at your loom, rather than if you have to plan it out with weaving software. And that's just how some people work. (Worst case scenario for some of your classes, you might have to weave something and then work out how to transfer it to weaving software!) EDIT: Also, your cat is _beautiful._
