Gain strength in your upper body with this arm and shoulder toning and shaping workout!
All exercises are performed in a seated position.
I'm using 4 pound weights for this workout. Always start with lighter dumbbells if you are unsure. You can also use water bottle or soup cans to add resistance if you do not have weights.
Please go at your own pace and make the workout your own.
This routine is a great way to start a strength training program and build bone density!

Had right knee replacement Monday and before that did your knee stretches for months before. Know that will/ help in recovery. Since using a walker for now just did this 10 minute arm weights 2x! Will add some of the upper body core later. Maybe you can do an upper body with a one leg strength combo😊 So glad I have your moves to help me keep up my Senior "76" Strength😊

I am not a senior but my body has been impacted severely by covid and autoimmunity and neuropathy. I used to could go hard at the gym and some days can barely walk. I am dealing with arm atrophy and pray it is nothing long term serious but trying to get some movement in my arms. I just made it through your 10 min chair arm exercise using 2lb weights, it felt nice to get some movement with weights. Please make some more seated routines for the arms and legs if you can. I am glad I found you and you are making a difference. Thank you for your help.

Perfect. I did 1 round of one of the longer HIIT videos and then this for 25 min total of morning exercise. I like mixing these up depending on energy level and what I want to work on. Happy Friday. I love these short and very effective workouts. Keep them coming. I di my own thing especially when it comes to the overhead triceps one cuz doing them that way hurts the outside of my left upper arm. I used to push through the pain but finally decided to stop doing them that way. Wasn’t doing me any good for sure. Oh well at least I’m learning!! Better late than never. I’ll do what works for me. Thanks again for making these videos for us.

I actually looked forward to this sitting down arm workout. Worked hard at the rink skating and my legs are whooped. So this was great. Still working abs too. Added some chest strength training too ! Did that pattern of 8, 4, 2 and well then of course the combo. I mean like it works

I enjoy your workouts. Feel good afterward without feeling spent. Only comment I would share is the music in the background. My hearing doesn’t allow me to tune out the sound so it’s hard for me to hear you with the music.

I have abandoned the exercise DVD’s that I have been doing since 2006 because of chronic knee bursitis. Before going back to physical therapy, I thought I would exclusively do your chair videos. It has worked. I do a half hour video plus a 10 minute one 5 times a week plus the physical therapy stretches and it’s a success. Thank you so much. I can see the effort you have put into creating them. I am 70 now and you have made this transition a painless one. ❤

Hi I just did this video and it was great! I have a neck issue with stenosis and really have a hard time doing shoulder exercises due to neck pain. Is there a video that addresses neck pain and how can I exercise my shoulders without neck issues. Thank you in advance. Your videos are a blessing to me and possibly every senior out there!

Not in my experience teaching 100's of seniors. It's important to start with light weights or maybe no weights at all. But if it is not appropriate for you or too difficult, then by all means don't do the video.
