Excellent tutorial. I am a videographer for a news organization, they threw these at us with no manual and said "use em". I found your post and your video is one of the best I have come across. No music, no distracting graphics, clear narration. Good Job. Thanks.

Thanks for this. Very well explained. I'm been tested on the set up of these tomorrow in my sound class and I have only done it once - mostly with someone helping me do it. 😊

Excellent. Thanks for doing what sennheiser doesn’t. Just picked up the 500 G4 set and the “manual” that comes with it is a joke. I wonder if they forgot to pack one. Just Pictogramm without description of what each feature does. Good luck to ya, that’s what Sennheiser packed in my box. At least now I understand how to set up and sync the frequencies. I’m still in the dark as to what to expect from the AF and RF bar graphs and how to adjust then.

You obviously haven't done too many youtube tutorials, have you? You've broken 3 cardinal rules. 1) There's no rap music or speed metal (Rob Zombie also works) drowning out your narration. 2) The narration is clear and audible. 3) The tutorial is to-the-point and helpful. I know you can do better next time!

I look for this video every time I need to use these mics, which is not often. Which is why I need this video. I finally wrote down the instructions. It seems that a better place for the sensitivity would be on the receiver and NOT the transmitter, no? Assuming you can't stop the shot to walk over to the talent and adjust his transmitter......

Thank you very much for your tutorial. I got the set with handheld mic to be able to record two people from 2 feet away (or so) from the mic. What settings would I set up to be able to pick up the sound? Right now it does not pick up anything as soon as I take mic away from my month.

I have two questions for you: 1) Can I have one transmitter going to two receivers? I speak and want my transmitter to go to the house sound system and to a camera or to my computer? 2) What do I need in order to have my Sennheiser EW100 recognized (plugged into) a MacBook Pro (running the latest Sierra) or even an iPad? What do I need to make this work? Fantastic tutorial, by the way.

That is a fantastic tutorial!!! Thanks :) I was wondering if by any chance you could help me with an issue I have using the mic with sony a7s m ii? I set it up according to your instructions and still when I start recording an interview before my subject strat to talk I get an increase in sensitivity recording ambient noise. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
@god-lightbulb3 жыл бұрын
For a loud voice, when you say turn the sensitivity down, does that making the dB more negative or more positive (newbie question). Likewise, for a soft voice, do you make the dB number more negative or more positive?

I've watched a few of these tutorials on these wireless sets, and most of them don't show them being used with someone on the mic. I want to see the levels moving, and then figure out when they know to go to a -30 or 0DB etc....this process of judging the signal is what I'd like to see in process. Also, when you adjust the AF Out, how is this effecting your Sensitivity setting, and vice versa?
