I think I understand what Sennheiser was trying to accomplish with this set. The boosted bass probably did not please the traditionalists, but it sure makes this set a lot more approachable sound-wise than some of their more clinical and intentionally neutral sets. I really like what they did. It is a very enjoyable and still very technically capable headphone. My only issue is the release price of $599. Luckily, if you catch them on sale, they are a more palatable $399. And who knows, if you wait long enough, they might get even lower. But don't hold your breath. They have already been out for over a year, so $399 is possibly as low as they are going to get. Do I recommend them? Watch the video for all of the details and my conclusion.
ps. when I said 1,400 watts for the K11... well... mW maybe? lol.
Metal rating: 8/10
Here is a new store I found while looking for information on the Sennheiser's driver material. I got a very quick, very friendly response from Stephen in support. Lots of cool stuff on their site (and no I am not being compensated to plug them, I just really liked my experience!)
