I dont understand the "Sennheiser has good QC" point when it comes to their IEMs. Has anyone seen the user reviews for their IE300 on Amazon, Reddit, etc ? The failure rate seems just as bad as any chi-fi product Ive ever seen

@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews You're good man, ain't your fault lol. I thought the same about Sennheiser, the over-ear wired headphones I have from them are great and built to last (6xx, 800s). For some reason their IEMs have tons of problems over time or even out of the box sometimes it seems :/

@@thickvinyl not really we have chifi authorized reseller here ...and easy to claim the warranty 😉 that true for high end iem ...the reseller gonna help it to send it back to china and get it fixed but for cheapo bellow 500$ ...u get brand new iem 😆

Well, it can be a survivorship bias. People with bad experiences tend to give more ratings and comments because of dissatisfaction, while people with good experiences just don't care about the review part since their gear is just working fine. I'm not a Sennheiser user, though (and have several chifi like moondrop, cca, kz, and qkz stuffs), but from my peers and known community, Sennheiser is pretty good with their build quality.

@@thickvinyl Yea, for Sennheiser I would just go to my local dealer and replace under warranty,but anything that's sent from China goodluck, I havent even got a refund once on alliexpress although I proven iems aren't working and got a rule from alliexpress control guy. The shop simply didn't refund. But that's the risk we take.

This sounds like a somewhat mainstream set, but in the price bracket it needs to hit harder or at least come with a much better cable. I just enjoyed a throwback, your Audeze iSine 20 review, it would be nice for companies to take more risks and try crazy headphones/earphones again.

Couldn't agree more about the QA! Got the Tin T3 Plus a month ago. It kicked the shit out of my Library.... Until it didn't. The Connection on the IEM's itself just stopped gripping. Changed the cord, emailed CS, and cried about I guess. I've Had some misses with ChiFi. I've Have had a ton of hits though! Excellent video brother. Oh also I'm loving the Kahn! Great tuning.

Always enjoy the deep dive it helps to understand tuning to performance. Off topic I just recieved the Stellarius, I don't think reviews were harsh enough, so I went for a 3mm tip and had a screen from Soundpeats H1 that came in their set. Still needs EQ but you can't add what it doesn't have, more base than needed and mid highs are realistic not over shot. I am a happy boy, now for the cable.

Thanks for the sound impressions! These are more important than the graph in some cases, subjective is as important as objective IMO, you just have to understand where it's coming from. Imaging and technicalities are such broad and vague terms that we could probably do without them, TBH, but some people might find it too much trouble to list the tracks and specific moments to describe them. Honestly, my prediction is that these will sell like hot cakes due to the Sennheiser brand name. There's a reason a lot of people outside of the hobby use Sony and/or Sennheiser - big brand equals better quality and longevity. My first properish IEM was Sennheiser, but I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy. I'm quite curious to see other reviews in IE200 as well, maybe will pick it up sometime in the future, but with the state of Chi-fi releases, I'm not sure if it's really worth it. Still curious though...

Got to try this set recently. Imo the tuning was decent (still miles better than the ie900) and technicals were ok for the price. I'd say their greatest strength is the comfort

Thank you for comparing them in the same video, so many of the reviews have just glossed over them and threw the IE600 label claiming they are similar, with the IE200 having less base and a LITTLE worse in terms of technicalities. Which was hard to believe with them having a smaller and cheaper driver😅

Hey HBB! Thanks for the awesome review! I have a quick question for you though. All of the other reviews I have seen have stated that there are two tip configurations and sounds like a baby IE600 (and when looking at their graphs its adds up minus the sub bass extension not as elevated as the IE600). Is it possible you had the tips of the IEM on the first notched position which gives you less bass response than the second position?

Just like the Momentums, Sennheiser’s True wireless earphones, the IE200’s seems to have been put out on the market with only it’s brand name to drive sales. The price and the value you get for that price shows that. Great video and review Chris🤘🏻

@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews I will have to disagree, every company is prone to QC nowadays I did have issues on my ie600 (left driver playback at 10 percent volume out of the blue ) got it replaced no questions asked, but no reason as to why it just stopped provided by them. On the other side, my modded blons still sound great after years of tossing them around. Sure i have other sennheiser gear which still goes strong but still....

Great review Chris! I always look forward to your opinion on hyped-up IEMs. Somebody in the comments mentioned how much they love the Truthears Hexa, even though your consensus was that they were not for you. I feel like the story is similar with my pair of IE 200's (they arrived yesterday). Wow, the cable is truly awful. Can't believe they actually installed two pieces of heatshrink instead of a proper divider and a bead. It feels like a joke, the microphonics are insane. And the build of the shells themselves is just nowhere near the feel of my cheaper FH3's. I think I need to quote Zeos here, it's like Mercedes trying to make a budget car which ends up being full of trade-offs and cut corners because they make really amazing high end stuff. Meanwhile Japanese car companies design cars from the ground up with budget in mind and get you more of your money's worth (I am not trying to start a religious war here, just an analogy). Anyways, I like the sound on these a lot, frankly. Your library is kind of a subset of mine, I also listen to a lot of OST and watch movies/play games with my IEMs. The gentler, less exciting tuning in these actually seem to work for everything I use them for. I can spice up the bass a little with APO or Wavelet, but they're still very enjoyable as is. The comfort is absolutely the best thing about these though, definitely more than the (supposedly good) QA/QC. I slept in these last night and they work really well for that.

Using the IE 300 currently, I love the fit. I'm pretty interested in the IE 200, the tuning looks much better and it's got a lower price by default. Although I luckily got my IE 300 for around the same price.

Got my HD 598 SR Sennheiser open back and I love them! Fast forward to their offerings in the IEM market and QA aside, they just can't compete at this price point without having something to jump on. If the best people are saying is "They're ok" then that's damned by faint praise. I didn't pay much more for my iKKKO OH1 and they are fantastic (for me), as are the Mele for a lot less money.

I use your test track spread sheet all the time, graphs don't mean a thing to me, the way you explain the differences and at what part of the track have helped me have a better understanding. Ultimately its what sounds good to my ears that counts even to the point where I use different IEMS or headphones for different albums or even tracks.

I've had Sennheiser HD25 for DJ-ing they did the job well for mixing, I also had some of their IEMs a few years back which were ok but Chi-Fi has come along way since then. The quality of sound we're getting now for the money is really good and I've been lucky that every set I've bought from China has been good.

@@closerau Yes at home on my controller I'll use the 7Hz Salnotes Zero as i think they're quite neutral, I don't want to much bass, with bass heavy music . I do have quite a few others & more expensive but can't fault the Zero's.

I still got the ie200, and I think it sounds good. Not the best at the price point, but they are comfy AF and great for sleeping. I also grabbed your Olina SE (also have the original, because amazon being amazon sent the wrong one, which I need to send it back or if I like it more than the SE I'll keep it), but I have yet to try it out.

I own IE 200s and they sound great! Tip-rolled them with Spinfit CP145s and they now sound even better with a slightly wider soundstage. The SPL value on these is deceptive, though. Need good amplification to perform well.
