Well it's a good metric to show the skill of a kido user. It's been shown that skipping the incantation essentially trades power for a faster casting speed; the power loss varying depending on the skill of the caster. The the full ability of Bakudo 81 is that it stops any kido under 90 without fail. A Danku cast by a less skilled kido user might fail at blocking a lower spell. Even with a full incantation it won't stop a level 90 or above kido. What surprises Tessai was that Aizen was able to stop a level 88 kido with an incantation-less Bakudo 81. Which means Aizen essentially cast a full, or near full power Danku without incantation.

@@crim1188 This again? 🤦 The only reason Tessai used Hado 88 was because he didn't expect Aizen (a Lieutenant) to be able to dodge it, let alone use Bakudo 81: Danku (a high level kido) without an incantation. Had he known prior, he could have used Hado 90, or 91 on Aizen. Now, I'm not saying Aizen isn't a kido master, but your statement is a ridiculous oversimplification, about how Aizen is better than Tessai. More so, as we see Tessai use some unknown kido to transport (teleport) them outta there moments later. Do I think Tessai is the best kido user? Yes. You didn't ask for it, but my top 5 list will be as follows; Tessai, Hachigen, Urahara, Yamamoto, and Aizen. To be honest, the last 3 can be put anyhow, but my top 2 remain same. They literally are the Captain, and Lieutenant of the *KIDO CORPS.*

@@naijagerd7909 Aizen IS better at kido than Tessai. He blocked a higher rank Hado 88 with a lower rank hado 81...without even using the incantation for it. And even if Tessai used a 90's level spell, it wouldn't have mattered because Aizen literally tanked a Hado 96 from Yamamoto (one of the strongest characters in the entire series) and it did barely did any damage. And don't forget that Kido scales with the user's spiritual pressure, meaning if Aizen and Tessai used the exact same spell Aizen's woud still be stronger because of his insane power. Sorry, Aizen really is just that good.

So the gap between tessai & hachi even after he get hollow power must be still very huge. Make it reasonable if we think tessai can easily handle espada #1.

While Tessai can mess around with reality (time stop+teleportation at the same heckin time = badass) it might not be suitable for battle. Hachii used barriers to use enemy's attack against him so it was great but not a typical solution, to me they are still casters not suited for duels. But I agree he could bring a lot to the plot. Also I consider last arc broken when it comes to power scaling.

Well he's very powerful but he's like Shinji level in pure reiatsu. His use of hado and bakudo makes him a unit in close mid and long range combat and he wouldn't have many weak areas. His weakness though is that his kido isn't invincible amd characters on Urahara's level should be able to brute force their way through his hokus pokus

Not Lille when Kyoraku used Zangerin, and neither Giselle nor Bambietta when Yumichika used Daichi Tenyo. Heck, the Kido was actually used to intercept Bambietta's bombs, which worked. If Nanao was able to create a Kido that can momentarily disable a Quincy's power, imagine what Tessai (or Hachigen) could've done.

Aizen was clever enough to experiment hollowfication on people and put the blame on urahara.

he used a dirty trick thats the reason why urahara was expelled and nearly sentenced to execution alongside Tessai, Aizen used his kyoka suigetsu complete hypnosis to tamper witnesses an twist the words of them an provide evidence of wrong doing because kisuke arrived at the wrong place at the wrong time and this played right into Aizen's advantage. Yoroichi however wasn't fooled by Aizen's performance an neither was Genryusai but the oldman knew he couldn't risk dividing the delicate balance he worked to maintain so he held his stance firmly but even ukitake and kyoraku knew something was up and suspicious about the whole situation and would have opted to further investigate because it wasn't just Shinji an co that suffered this hollowfication but kaien shiba also fell to it an this was before kisuke even took the mantle of captain. the soul society also would have just let shinji and the others die or become hollows to be executed but kisuke risked his life an position at that moment saying they could be saved and he knew how which sadly just made it look even more guilty of what he was accused of but thats the moment Yoroichi knew kisuke was being truthful so she took action the way she did and rescued him and tessai so they could in turn save the others.

and i should also note that all the captains there at the the time could have stopped them easily especially Genryusai but like i said Ukitake and Kyoraku were also split against the idea an were probably the ones who convinced oldman Yama not to pursue them but to let it be until they had more concrete details to solidify that Urahara was the true mastermind behind the disappearing soul reapers an hollow appearances within seireite and not just that they probably argued that them fighting eachother was probably what the guilty party planned for. so in all likely hood they probably just interrogated all divisions involved under tessai, yoroichi, and kisuke but came up empty handed and had no trail to follow cause Aizen destroyed all traces of the hollow research after this incident. an then later probably just told the others he could've been mistaken but that the fact remained that urahara still made off with the hollowfied captain's an lieutenants therefore still their only prime suspect
