Just subbed for more PTX reactions. I love listening to you guys discuss after… if you want to see what they can do with original music, I recommend… Sing, Love Again, Coffee in Bed and Happy Now. And yes they typically bring an idea they have to the group and they collab to finalize the song. Also they met just a couple of days before the show, it’s crazy how well they collab so quickly. PopSpring 2016 is my favorite video of theirs. Mitch definitely wouldn’t take issue with audibly being confused for a female voice. Mitch really does have the prettiest voice. I’m obsessed with his voice. And yes most of us have seen all of the sing off videos, likely multiple times. I had never made the connection of dog days are over. If you pick some sing off performances I’d recommend Born to wild, Let’s get it on and Dog Days are gone.

I missed Avi when he left as well. However, Matt's doing a great job with PTX, and I can now enjoy Avi's solo work. It's the best of both worlds. This is my first time to your channel. Great observation Tazz. I do see the similarity now indeed in the choreography of this and Dog Days from the Sing Off. I agree 100% with you too that though Matt is excellent, and he gels with the group amazingly, Avi will always be in my heart and my favorite. Avi has some super solo work now though too. I would love to see you react to that!!! Please react to Avi's Change on the Rise. I saw him in concert last summer and boy is he talented. As far as PTX goes I too am nostalgic and love the older performances which a few, by the way, won them Grammys. Please react to their cover of Problem and of course if you've not reacted to their award winning Daft Punk(medley) that is a must as well. I've subscribed and looking forward to more Pentatonix and some Avi solo reactions please.

​@@tazzznphilly Avi left because he did not feel like he could give 100 percent to the group. He was burnt out, his Mom was ill and music had become a job. It took a lot of courage to leave a successful group and pursue music that fulfilled his creative soul. Avi is much happier now and his music is fabulous. He is a singer/songwriter in the general folk americana category. I enjoyed your commentary, cheers!

Glad you guys watched and liked this. As you have discussed...Mitch does indeed have a beautiful, ethereal voice that could be easily mistaken for a female's voice. In fact it's sometimes difficult to figure out which voice is his and which is Kirstie's when both are doing high vocal backing harmonies. I love Pentatonix, they are all so amazing. Prince is also high range voice, as well as MJ. I didn't get to see the competition that they won but yt has the whole competition with just their songs. I did watch that. They were crazy amazing then as well. I can't wait to see the next video.

I'm not sure if anyone else said, but since you mentioned how polished you found them on The Sing-Off - that was literally their start that you were watching, Tazz. The trio had been singing together for quite some time in theater and various choirs, but they were only together as a 5-part-group for a day before auditioning. They sang 2 songs for the audition and then there was the show. You think about how Mitch skipped his high school graduation and they just lucked into Avi and Kevin because they needed five members and asked the right people (they found Kevin on KZbin searching for beatboxers and bought his plane ticket, he joined on a lark for the experience... Avi they found through Ben Bram from the college a capella community) and it was just kind of fate. They had no business being that good that fast.

So many people talk about how "angelic" Mitch's voice is, so in the Amazing Grace video, his tux coat, had small wings on the back shoulders,. They are only visiable from the rear, and only for just a couple seconds. I can see the wings, I just can't remember exactly what part of the song. He was bullied all through school because of his voice, until he realized how it could be used to make him popular. He's heard all the stuff, and he has learned what is a compliment, and what is a diss. Don't worry about not being sure if it's a new person or not, I have been around long enough that I have watched the video for every song on ONE album, ten songs, and Mitch and Kirsty would have at least ten different hair styles. I mean start out long hair, then cut it short, then it would grow back long before the last song. The joke is if you need to ask if it's Mitch or Kirsten, the answer is Yes! They are still there.

Kirstie and Mitch, in particular, change up their looks dramatically over the years, but it's always them. Great Reaction! The slow steps on Dog Days was a really dramatic build! I think these steps forward are more, I don't know, introspective? I see what you mean, though. Mitch's timbre is angelic. I guess I am too keyed-in to his voice at this point. If he was singing in a choir of a thousand voices, I could point right to him, so I don't think of his voice as womanly, just Mitchy, lol. He wouldn't be insulted to have his voice mistaken or compared to a woman's voice, though. Happens all the time.

It certainly wouldn't be the first time someone has heard Mitch singing and thought it was a female, if they weren't familiar with Pentatonix. PTX recently performed the National Anthem live at the CFB championship football game, and there was apparently a blow-up on social media from non-Pentaholics who thought PTX had lip-synched the song, because during Mitch's solo, "the woman wasn't even holding her mic up to her mouth". Kirstie and Mitch are both chameleons, who change their looks in virtually every video you'll see. Hair color, style, facial hair or lack thereof (that's Mitch, not Kirstie, LOL) - all of it is subject to change. It even makes some people think there are new members of the group, because they can change appearance so dramatically.

Did you know that they got screwed after the sing off? The deal was, if they won they would get $200,000 and a recording contract. They moved from Texas to LA and two weeks later almighty Sony dropped them saying that they were not marketable. They took the money and started making youtube videos. That is how they built their massive fan base. Btw, they are on tour right now. An example of Kirstie changing her look. The last concert footage I saw, she was wearing a purple wig with cat ears. They were in Japan. The only thing that I'd like you to different is... I would like to see Philly better. He seems so far away. Especially in this case. Where Taz has already seen the video. I'd like to be able to see his face as he reacts. Just a suggestion. For something different, you could go with their cover of Can't Hold Us. They rap in it. Yes rap. Or their Daft Punk medley. Or since you both mentioned Michael Jackson. There is The Evolution video. Or, or and or. The list could go on for a very long time. That's not to mention ALL of their Christmas stuff, you could get into around the holidays. I am so glad you are on this journey. I am here for it. I'm already subbed. So, I can't do that. His latest album is the Shooter Jennings produced Floating on a Dream, he re did 2 songs from that album acoustically in a church in The Netherlands for The 7 Layers Sessions, and 4 songs were re recorded Live at Sunset Sound.
