Twin Hawk is cool as when you play it on an English language Mega Drive it changes to its western version. The difficulty changes also. Love the dual rom games like this. Came out here in U.K. and Europe but didn’t get released in US. Crue Ball is fun.

Love the Mega Drive. And it's true, Mega Drive cases are indestructible, which is great when you're collecting games for a thirty year old system.

if you can get a nice cib mega drive game collection going, it's a beautiful thing. as someone who has collected a lot of gaming hardware directly from japan, the md library is one of my favorites. nice cases, great artwork, plus the library has very little filler (unlike usa). go for it, man!

great pickups! some great shmups, SF2 and Sonic 2?! also have to shout out crue ball I played a rom of it once since I've been curious about it even though I'm not much of a pinball guy, video or otherwise... the intro had me rolling though, if you're a metalhead I'm sure you could relate, haha. love the chiptune renditiions of the crue songs, some pretty great stuff!

Ah MERCS, that was some good times in the arcade. I remember always picking up the M79 grenade launcher cuz it had excellent killing power especially against vehicles and buildings, but had next to no short range defense. So I would always get killed by an enemy that popped up right in front of me lol. I'll have to look for that Mega Drive version now. Also for that Aerosmith reference you made, I believe that game you were referring to is Revolution X, another awesome arcade game that I loved playing. Made by the same people (I believe) that made the eternally amazing Terminator 2 arcade shooter as well.

Yeah Revolution X, I'd rented that game one weekend on the SNES and was pretty disappointed lol, I got bored with it pretty quickly. Would definitely be more fun in the arcade.

@@MadPanicGaming Yeah man, the console ports were terrible. The worst and glaring change is that many of the Aerosmith songs used in the arcade original were not in the console ports.

Electronic Arts games are different in terms of packaging because they were producing their own cartridges and boxes to avoid paying royalties to Sega

Games i've picked up lately, Y's on PS2 (PAL), Mario and Wario (SFC), XII Stag PS2 JP, Disney's Timon & Pumbaa's Jungle Games SNES USA, Sky Odyssey PS2 PAL, Jackal NES. I have a couple of the games you reviewed today Darius and Dens what ever its called. I only have about 10 JP Megadrive games. I've got Blissful death and a switch game called "Gift" on the way from where ever Play asia is based.

6:35 - I love the box-art on both the Japan and Western cover, but yeah the SNES game is the best version of them all (SNES, Sega & NES), but the Sega version has its own merits still. I remember I looked if there was different teams at Konami who programmed the games, but by looking at the credit screen, we can see same names = Either there was the same people who made both versions OR Konami wanted not to give specific credit to the people involved (?)

Nice stack of games! Slap a color patch and the 3do soundtrack patch on sf2 and you got yourself a sega cd version.

Nice games, Jim! My favorite games on sega Genesis are Sonic, the hedgehog games. I played on xbox 360. Even street fighter is a good kick ass game. My favorite street fighter character is ryu. Ryu is a video game character from street fighter he has some powers to fight other player. My favorite impression of ryu like shoryuken! Also I play ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 on xbox 360 as well. I play 3 characters in the game like: Ryu, Chun-Li, and Zero. I enjoy playing a lot of fun and of course I play sonic generations as well. I played as both Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic. There are 9 different zones such as: green hill, chemical plant, sky sanctuary, speed highway, city escape, seaside hill, crisis city, rooftop run, and plant wisp. So yeah, that is pretty much everything. Anyways, Hey Jim? Can you send me a comment happy birthday to me tomorrow? Because tomorrow I'm celebrating my 21st birthday!!!!

TMNT TF on Genesis is not THAT bad to me. I thought the music was good. I just didn't like the unfair AI opponents. Yea, compared to the SNES and even the NES versions it might not look so great, but it certainly is not a terrible game and I would go down defending it.

I oversold its badness a bit, but it was such a disappointment the first time I played it, I'd really enjoyed the SNES game and it was just so much worse. It's not the worst fighter ever, but it's definitely subpar which is mindboggling considering that I'm sure talented people worked on it.

personally Sonic 1 is my favorite, I love the level design, in my opinion there are no bad stages , Oil Ocean Zone and Metropolis zone in Sonic 2 really sucks the same as Carnival Night zone in Sonic 3 , and Sonic 1 have also my favorite music in the series, I know I'm a minority but i like 1 more.
