Great list Jim, but here's my list.... 10) Axelay (everything great about Gradius III cranked to 11) 9) Killer Instinct (it was everything I loved about fighting games) 8) Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (everything great about the first game cranked to 11) 7) Hagane: The Final Conflict (basically SNES's own answer to Shinobi on the Genesis) 6) Star Fox (who knew the SNES was capable of amazing visuals like that back in the day) 5) Kirby Superstar (one of my favorite Kirby games ever) 4) Cybernator or AKA: Assault Suits Valken (this is one of the games that made me a hardcore mecha fan) 3) Super Metroid (one of the greatest games on the SNES, hands down) 2) Final Fantasy III/VI (2nd greatest RPG on the SNES) 1) Chrono Trigger (this game has everything a budding RPG fan could ever want and thensome)

Great Top 10 list, Jim. Picking just 10 is hard as the Super NES/Super Famicom had an outstanding library of games. But here my personal Top 10: 10.- Battletoads in Battlemaniacs 9.- Final Fantasy III (VI) 8.- Donkey Kong Country 7.- Super Metroid 6.- Super Mario All-Stars 5.- Super Mario World 4.- MegaMan X 3.- Star Fox 2.- Final Fantasy II (IV) 1.- Super Mario Kart Honorable mentions: Gradius III, Chrono Trigger, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Tetris & Dr. Mario, Tetris Attack, Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen, Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat II, MegaMan 7, Super Ghouls n' Ghosts, Actraiser, U.N. Squadron, Knights of the Round. So many great games. Long Live the Super NES, a timeless game system.

That's a solid list, though I must say I've never played Scooby-Doo. I did play the hell out of Beavis and Butt-head though, I ended up buying it from the video rental store when they were getting rid of SNES games.

Nice list Jim, good to see a SNES top 10 without a tonne of RPGs too. Especially agree with you about Super Castlevania IV and Gradius III. What a phenomenal couple of soundtracks. My top 10 (bearing in mind a lot of the classic SNES RPGs never made it to the UK): 1. Super Mario World 2. Super Castlevania IV 3. Super Mario Kart 4. Street Fighter II Turbo 5. TLOZ: A link to the past 6. Super Metroid 7. F-Zero 8. Super Tennis 9. The Legend of the Mystical Ninja 10. Gradius III (played it on Wii VC as it was never released here till then) Honourable mentions: Pilotwings, Axelay, Actraiser, Sim City, Super Bomberman (with a multitap and 4 controllers 👌)

Super Aleste/Space Megaforce and Panel De Pon/Tetris Attack are my top 2. I’ve tried multiple attempts but I could never get into chrono trigger.

Snes/super famicom is perhaps the best system every made. At least top 5. Just when I think I’ve updated my knowledge on the catalog, I find even more bangers for this system.

Agreed. Definitely invest in a Super Everdrive. I have it and it's fantastic. You can literally play almost every game on it. I have a Super Famicom

Sadly i didnt own a snes until now. I always just went to my cousins, so for that its hard to make a top 10 for me. My top 3 tho. 1. Tetris Attack 2. Megaman X 3. Turtles in Time

I never got around to that X-MEN game, but played all the others on here and have no objections! (well I'd put chrono trigger higher, but this isn't my list so... ) my list would probably be similar, just replace X-MEN with Final Fantasy 6!

I never was the biggest fan of Mario World honestly. It's a good game and all, but I was always way more into fighting games, Mega Man, Castlevania, Zelda etc.

You made a mistake: MegaMan X is supposed to be no.1!! I know this is your list. As a Genesis kid, MegaMan X was by far and large, my opinion of the best SNES game

Mario World is a good game and all, just not one of my SNES favorites. I always thought of it as the game that you play when you have nothing else to play, but once I had Mega Man X and Super Castlevania IV, I didn't have much use for Mario World.
