I'm bewteen prostreet and shift. Yeah, i find the speed challenges so scary going at 200mph, but in shift is EVEN SCARIER with the cockpit camera, and when you crash it gets all blurry and you can hear the driver heavily breathing

in Shift 2 it gets so bad the game is actually unplayable the more you progress, and the main menu scene is foreshadowing. No matter what you do in that game, hitting anything at high speed will make YOU fly off the road, you hit someone ? you get rekt, someone else hits you ? you get rekt, you touch the wall ? big mistake

It's like if you touch other cars too you get glued to them and loose control over your car until you're crashed off them lmfao. Never played a game that did that before

@@itslvc5588 i think ik what it is, the cars barely have any grip they slide all the time, and if you want to turn fast you have to push your car to its limits, but without grip if you dare touch something your car will be sent spinning. you can notice how in every turn you can hear the tires scream

Prostreet always takes the cake with the shifting and camera, but I think you missed an important part with Heat's section. It looks like you were using one of the far away cams, but I find the action camera does a fantastic job of simulating speed. It struggles to keep up with the car as you boost, and when you brake hard it causes the car to take up almost the entire screen. It's way less static than the near and far camera. It's a bit too low, which makes certain maneuvers difficult to see, but I always use it when I want to feel one with the car and scared as shit when doing 300+kph. Great video though, it goes to show how far good camera work goes.

I think MW12 and Rivals had a pretty chill camera. The way I think about it, the camera only shakes so much because the driver isn't comfortable with going deadly speeds. So in MW12 and Rivals, the drivers must be godly professionals.

Shift/Shift 2 - not only my favourite games in the series (although hardly nfs titles), but the sense of speed was amazing. I guess GRID really started that trend - track based racing games, where racing itself is actually exciting (unlike gran turismo/forza motorsport kind, where drving is very detailed, but races tend to be more predictable), but Shift really mastered it. Prostreet had amazing sense of speed but behind a chase cam was... only somewhat usable, and i want a good sense of speed with decent chase cam (not to mention very unique physics... for better or worse)..

Of all the games, I always thought UG2 had the worst speed of the bunch, driving with 340km/h in it doesn't even feel like 200 in other installments. MW2005 similarly felt quite slow, especially early on, but not to the same extent. And for the best, that's absolutely Prostreet, driving fast in that game gave the player a strong adrenaline rush and fear combo, it was especially scary to go fast in Nevada, and the cars became much harder to control as a result, too. Which, despite being impractical for a racing game, was somewhat realistic, as driving at insane speeds should not feel like a walk in the park at all. Heat also had a fairly good sense of speed, too.

the run is worse than UG2, there's literally only one 3rd person camera and it's stuck to the car's ass, the cars are too quiet and they're all heavy. Going on a highway at 400kph feels like 150 at best. Going at 100kph feels like you're leaving your driveway. And using nitrous then letting go feels like it doesnt do anything and looks like the car is struggling to breathe lmao

Shift 1, 2 and Prostreet are the best. Btw in Shift 1, it would be better if tested in Nurburgring Nordschleife. You can hit 200 MPH (320 KM/H) and the visual become blurry.

I mention following these game means I love it I brought Hot Pursuit 2010 no remastered nealy before remastered came out but I felt no disappointing... yet. Shift 2 unleashed top notch realistic sense of everything. Downside sooooo hard to control, plays on keyboard is impossible except Drag race. Rivals, = Hot Pursuit v2 + free roam whenever you want, no needs to navigate the interface + better sense of speed In My Opinion. NFS 2015 is on my wishlist, is Shift 2 + free roam. The graphics speaks from itself, I don't care about floor wet and night, the most realistic compare real world I've ever seen, I would say this and everything in 2015 is the future.

Definitely a skill issue. The game doesn't feel slow when you push the cars to their limits after tuning. Specially when you use the nitrous and everything gets the effect that I believe comes from NFS:U. 🤔 If you really wanna go fast, use the corolla and use the world record tune for circuits and such. The car's an actual beast. Think of it like how the rsr is nowadays. It's insanely fast. But if you can just go fast af with the other cars and also not minding the wall rides, then it can be a pretty quick-feeling game ngl. ...but idk how my strong my argument really is since I haven't played NFS:U...and I definitely should...some time...eventually...maybe...most likely using Dolphin in my MacBook Pro like how I replayed U2 and also played Carbon and more recently MW 2005.

I honestly think that mw 2005 captured it in the best way, no other nfs game has this sense of aggression and speed combined with environment it looked the fastest for me. Also no other nfs game had difficult police chases, mw was tough for me as a kid but also rewarding. Best nfs for me so far.

Huge mistake of speed effect - no motion blur of world at speed and rotated wheels , or if blur make shadow blurry .. In real life dynamic shadow DON'T BLURRY because car ( and his shadow ) - is IN FOCUS of the far / close camera . In all nfs's fkng shadow always blurry lol .

I feel shift felt ridiculous in terms of speed, just the amount of violent rattling and the inside of the car going fuzzy the faster you go made any car feel like a rocketship. newer games like payback, heat and unbound feel bland by comparison, its crazy how we have so much more computing power to make a game look incredible and yet the real sense of aggression of driving an actual sports car is gone, instead replaced by "HuR dUr MaKe FoV wIdEr!!!!" The only car in a game i've found which emulates the aggro of shift is the 787B in asseto.

nfs the run is the "worst", and it's bc the camera was too close to the car, plus the handling was heavy and the engine sound is very low, which gave you too much security. prostreet is the total opposite, using the far camera makes you closer to the road too, and going at 400kph in the tight wavy nevada road would be a mistake lol. "Honorable mention" is most wanted 2012 but thats from the fear of getting another annoying crash cam
