As a former offensive lineman for 10ish years, I've always maintained a VERY strong lower-body. Even during an unhealthy time when I dropped down to 175lbs I had a 40 inch hips. Even at my largest as an adult (250 lbs) squats are pretty much effortless, muscle endurance is great. All that to say I have been considering doing Sumo as sort of a hobby because I always want to stay active. Especially since surviving Stage 4 Cancer a few years ago. Watching Seth go for it is really making me want to make some calls in my state to see if there is any organization that would have me train and possibly compete. Congrats on the win! I’m so happy and proud of you Seth, I know you’ve been working so hard for this and it’s really paid off. I can’t wait to see you at Worlds. I’m so sad Eric didn’t get the gold though, he’s such a beast and has amazing energy, I always love seeing him in your sumo videos

Congratulations Sensei Seth, it is awesome that you won. After seeing you use what looked like a Judo technique in your match I think it would be awesome to see if there are any other techniques from the various martial arts you have tried out that could be applied to sumo.

Wow... what a video... this was like watching / reading some sort of Shonen manga Complete with team mates interviews, rivals flashbacks moments, and what an ending. Good luck for the World championships! I have only recently found your channel (a few months or so) and I honestly impressed there's someone out there doing what you are doing

That was VERY cool! I was in Japan as a kid and wanted to be a sumotori. My life took a different path and now I am 50 with joint injuries but I still love sumo, I am so happy that you have found it and are achieving hard-won goals. おめでとう

Funnily enough, a sports bar I was just at had sumo on one of their TVs. Thankfully they did highlight/replays because of how fast some of the matches were. It was something I really enjoyed watching after seeing your breakdowns of rules, training, and matches
