Not entirely comparable. The change to EV overall is not primarily for performance reasons but to reduce Carbon emissions. Yes, the Taycan is not exactly a vehicle that thrives to be economic but it is to push the development of EVs. Electric will be more efficient and climate friendly than ICEs (and already is). Watches on the other hand are not that big of a factor when it comes to carbon emissions, even more so once they are produced as they require so little energy. I agree that ICEs will become more of an irretional collector´s item as they are more inefficient and expensive than EVS (also because of higher regulations and taxes). In that way you can compare it to a mechanical watch which is technically inferiour to a quartz when it comes to production costs and accuracy. Because of said reasons, sports car manufacturers like Porsche also have to develop EV sportscars that will be obtainable to a broader market. Even more so when political climate regulations are going to make ICEs too expensive for most car enthusiasts.
