An excellent all round package. This particular 1.6 seems strong. Good space and equipment. Quality and Suzuki is quickly becoming the most reliable vehicles on the market bar none. Most enjoyable.

Yes sir, a particularly excellent package, although the gearchange in the 1.2 is a bit better than this. Typical Suzuki interior, but the mechanicals are very reliable.

Excellent review as always Sir, I do like this version of the Swift, well built and realible and a nice little warm hatch, I can see why Mr Richardson likes these.
@lloydvehicleconsulting2 жыл бұрын
Mr Richardson did indeed have one of these from Suzuki UK recently, as did Planetauto, but they are fair bit more expensive than this these days. The hard plastic interior is something they don't seem to have addressed too much with the newer model, unfortunately.

The SZ-R is quite rare. There was only 100 built. Not much different to the Sport except for a contrast roof/mirrors and an air-dam. Great video Joseph.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that Langley provided this Swift. Thank you for supporting what Joseph does.

Thank you, Simon! I did enjoy this little car, although that gearchange was surprisingly clunky, the five speed gearboxes are not like that. That information about the SZ-R is interesting.

I similarities between this Swift and the Swift that was recently reviewed on another channel. I like the rear door windows on this verses the most current model, although I like the hidden handles on the current Swift. I do dislike the rear headrests on this Swift; I'm only 5'8" and they dig into my upper back and shoulders, making it extremely uncomfortable. Once up, they obstruct rearview vision. A terrible compromise. Instruments are what one should expect, as well as climate controls and those on the steering wheel. The one downside is the very small cargo area, which reminds me of a Chevrolet Spark in terms of capacity. Otherwise, a most competent vehicle! Thank you both Joseph and Prestige Motors for highlighting this particular Suzuki Swift!

Yes sir, I saw that Mr Richardson had a current model Swift Sport from Suzuki UK, it's probably the same one that Planetauto had recently. Not sure how I feel about the hidden door handles, sir. Parking sensors and a reversing camera were not standard on any Swift of this generation, it could probably do with something like that if you put the headrests up. The boot is absolutely tiny, it is about the same size as a Chevy Spark (they did sell them over here at the same time as this Suzuki was made).

You’ve got to love a Sporty Swift, great back lane motors, the Boosterjet later models are one of favourite warm hatches.

Yes, apart from the slightly nasty interior plastics and the surprisingly loose gearchange, I quite enjoyed this, the chassis engineering is superb!

I do like Suzuki sir. They have the right blend of quirkiness - just like the much missed Daihatsu - and reliability and it's a good looking wee pocket rocket. Presumably if you bought one, you'd have to call it Russ Park and rides make excellent filming locations too

Oh sir, that joke... I think I will have to refer you to Mr Coleman at this rate! I also like Suzukis, and I think we may have another one coming up on the channel soon. The styling is rather good, and I enjoyed driving it, although that gearchange was a bit loose.

Great video. These must be the most popular cars in New Zealand at the moment! I have lost count how many people I know have them! Suzuki are seriously starting to rival Toyota and Nissan! Merry Christmas!
@lloydvehicleconsulting2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I am sure that these must be very popular, they tend to be quite well received by journalists and the public alike. I reviewed an Ignis Sport from 2004 last year, and that was brilliant too!

@@lloydvehicleconsulting Indeed! Popular with people of all ages! There was even a one make race series a la Rover Tomcat for them!

@@alaricbragg7843 , yes, I think I remember the one make race series. As I said in the video, I sourced a "normal" version of one of these for a client earlier this year, and they seemed to really like it.

@@lloydvehicleconsulting Owners I know range from their teens to their nineties! This is a big, bold thing to say but I argue that the Swift is the Mini of its age! The roads in New Zealand are swamped with post-mid 2000s Swifts!

@@alaricbragg7843 , Suzuki is a much bigger brand in many other parts of the world than here, and so I am sure you see a lot more of them over there than we do!

This seems to have a few features that the latest model does not, headlamp washers, twin courtesy lights. The 1.6 should make it quite…. er… fast. And it weighs only around a ton.
@lloydvehicleconsulting2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's not a slow car at all, but I do drive cars quite modestly on the channel. I quite enjoyed it, I just hope the gearchange is a bit tighter on the later model, as this was surprisingly sloppy for some reason.
