Doué is the same kind of X factor as Nico Williams, just less hype around him, and in contrast to Williams he has the ability to even play as an 8. He's basically a mix of Williams and Eze and more talented than both. Instead of Eze, one might suggest Olmo who's better in everything except dribbling, although his injury record is horrific. Instead of Merino there are players like Koopmeiners, who had more scorers last season and is also available or Palacios from Leverkusen or Kirian Rodríguez, who was one of the best midfielders in LaLiga last season and is flying completely under the radar or someone young like Millot who had a terrific season at Stuttgart. Instead of Zubimendi there are lots of better options Fofana from Monaco, Ederson from Atalanta, Hjulmand from Sporting or Stiller from Stuttgart who had a outstanding season and is the designated Kroos regen for Germany. That was just lazy journalism.

They need to strengthen their left side, dont they? Calafiori, Merino and Eze would be an excellent window for them. Merino's got the defensive game as well as attacking thrust and close control to unlock a low block. Eze would make their left even more dynamic, in tandem with Merino and Calafiori, bringing balance to the side. But Eze will probably move to Spurs or City, what I read. Maybe Summerville or Boga is an alternative.

Arsenal's squad *scored* 86 goals. Arsenal had 91 *Goals For* due to 5 own goals. That's how it's listed on FBref. That's my fault for not clarifying it in the graphic, but JJ did say "scored the second most goals, 86". ofc own goals are usually a result of chances being created, but they aren't scored by the team. which is the question that jj was answering: do they need to bring in a striker to score more chances?

For Spurs I think Johnson and Werner both should have had more assists but they counted as own goals, but both did the typical Postecoglu Spurs goal of low hard cross across the 6 yard box that was turned in by the opposition but a Spurs player would have got there (and probably missed to be fair).

I know some people think Rice ain't a 6 cos he can't pass like Rodri or Busquets, but thats a ridiculous standard to hold a 6 to. Casemiro was never like that at Madrid. Progressed the ball well & thats it. Rice is the same. And guess who they put next to Casemiro? Kroos & Modric. What would have worked at the Euros was Rice at 6 & Wharton next to him. No one at 6 is better at defensive duties than Rice. Even Rodri struggles vs counterattacks. Rice just needs a top passer next to him. If he joined a season earlier, Xhaka & Rice would have been a class combo. Rice's carrying isn't wasted at 6 either. When he's deep & under pressure, it lets him keep the ball vs aggressive opponents & escape to bring his side out of trouble or even start a counterattack.

The LHS hasn't had this since Xhaka left, which is why Martinelli struggled & Arsenal aren't as dangerous on that side cos there was no standout LB either. With Calafiori & a passing 8 who can overlap Nelli (to create space so he can move centrally like JJ said he loves to do), Rice's weakness will be masked and Nelli can cook again when he plays LW.

Here are some players that I think would make good additions to our squad, purely based on my own amateur analysis: 1). Victor Boniface (ST): He’s the absolute cream of the crop at his age and price for me. 23 years old, £40 m. Lethal finisher, big, strong, fast, and would feast on the set pieces and delivery our midfield can provide. 2). Angelo Stiller (CM): Hugely influential in midfield and a major contributor to Stuttgart’s success. One of the most elite in terms of pass completion, ball progression, and carries into the final third from midfield. Arguably better than Zubimendi 3). Youssouf Fofana: Strong, physical central/defensive midfielder available at a decent price. Can play in a single or double pivot 4). Maximilian Mittelstädt: High flying wingback who also provides great defensive contribution. Great ball recovery rate. Very similar to Andy Robertson’s style and approach. Provides even more depth to our defense, can start in cup competitions, and would allow Calafiori to rotate in midfield and play higher if needed.

Learning about talented young prospects from lower ranked teams and how they would fit was so fun. I even go back nowadays to see how the players they've suggested have done and it's surprising how ahead of the curve these guys were compared to what kind of videos they are putting now. I know Alex played a big part in the success of the past videos of Sensible transfers but hopefully we can see a change in strategy and have best of both worlds.

Arsenal don’t need young prospects though, they need solutions whilst they have momentum (hence the lack of academy players coming through at things moment). I’d say it’s rather sensible to sign players who are playing close to or at their potential then someone who may be good in a few years. We’ll have to see some more sensible transfer videos to determine whether they’re going down the populist route or as you said, with the more hidden gems (or just Sangare)

Not cheap, but maybe available: Rodrygo of Real Madrid. With the signing of Mbappe and Endrick and the development of Arda Guler, Madrid might be open to sell Rodrygo for the right price. Can play both wings, very tricky and knows how to score a goal. Also at Arsenal he can finally play his favorite left wing position. Would be a perfect fit!

Xavi Simons, Tsyhankov, and Swiss Ruben Vargas would also be good fits to help the midfield and attack. The latter should be very affordable. Another Girona player in Dovbyk should have been looked at more seriously as an affordable high potential striker, but it seems that transfer would be too late now.

Leroy Sane as another winger option. Can play both sides. Knows Arteta well, and Jesus, Zinny & Havertz. Had his best season at Bayern last year. Olise just been brought in.

Would go for Mitoma in LW cheaper and probably better than the guys you mentioned. Sad he got injured last season but was ripping defenfers left and right.

Quite interesting how Arteta, a great Spanish midfielder during his playing times, sees a Spanish midfielder (one of zubimendi, merino or Ruiz?) as the final piece of the midfield puzzle.

Arsenal needs striking; we haven’t had a proper 9 since Henry. Gyokeres looks like an Arsenal player. Calvert-Lewin would be good for the backup role, and could be affordable.

Pedro Neto is a good choice, apart from his injury record. He can play on both wings, v explosive in counterattack

What do you think of Kudus? I like him becasue he seems to be quite versatile. He can cover wings and central/attacking mid. Has good physicality and defensive numbers to potentially play as an 8 but is a good goalscorer and can beat players 1v1. He's young too but i feel westham might overvalue him. I also like Palacios from Leverkusen who isnt spoken about much. He has some amazing passing, a nice touch with a bit of finesse and technique, also good tackling and tracking/jockying of defenders. Potentially be a good option for an 8 to partner rice. Maybe he's too injury prone though im not sure. There must be reasons no ones talking about these guys as options. Also that victor boniface dude, everyone has forgotten about him since his injury but he was one of the top strikers before that; and is still young. Leverkusen did just fine without him too so i don't see why they wouldnt be open to selling.

Seško was perfect, I hope he changes his mind next transfer window. Calafiori, on CDM, WILL be our game changer. Alongside Rice. Nico Williams *sigh* I hope Arsenal pull him, but I don't think they will. My prediction is that we are heavily going to 'relay' on G. Jesús, on the left and right wing, because he is going to be injury prone this season. For now, I think we are secured in the center forward position, with Havertz as a false 9.
