Can confirm the weakness in the waterproof department, I fell in a pool with mine (pro model) and it stopped working and when I got in contact with them they kinda fought me on acknowledging the warranty asking me a lot of questions and such. Surefire however did replace it and my current model has been running strong ever since.

@@Highgear145 Just get one of their regular duel fuel models. They use two cr123s or an 18650 rechargeable. They are IPX7 waterproof or better. The steletto is the only one that has a charge port (with the exceptionof a keychain light they make). Streamlight makes an okay light but the ones I'd trust are too big. That's why I like the steletto. It's just right. Just don't dive into a lake and it's fine. You could also look at Modlite, Arisaka, or Cloud Defensive. All US made tanks. But the Steletto is in a unique place and it fits my needs perfectly.

I’ve had the Stiletto for 3 years. EDC. I have 12 Surefire lights and this is my favorite. The charge holds for a long time I only charge it about once a month. Just go and buy one you will not be disappointed. Just a disclaimer. The max vision light pattern is not for going out to distance. It’s more of a wide flood.

I have the Pro version that work purchased for me. I have had it for a month and so far so good. I my first impression was that it was smaller in person than what I thought. Carries very well in the pocket and has been very useful/dependable in my short time with it. I personally would not have spent $230 on it and would have considered the standard version instead. I do like it better than my Olight Warrior mini 2 as that light would always turn on it my pocket. I have not had that problem with the Stiletto Pro.

The regular Stiletto you have here is what I had and twice after about a year both times the polymer cracked down the side screws from normal use the second time it crumbled now surefire replaced it no questions asked but this third replacement one looks to be different polymer and looks to have buttons of the stiletto pro so I’m hoping it’s a tougher material but even though the head almost broke clean off it still worked! IM Loyal to surefire multiple lights no issues and suppressors as well but the original polymer was definitely a no go and want the aluminum bodied pro as it would be bulletproof

Love my steletto pro. I carried a Olight warrior mini for a good while and the mini 2 after it was recalled. However I primarily wanted a defensive light and the olight warrior mini had to many issues with accidental activation and ,worst of all, not activating when I needed it. So I switched to the Stiletto Pro a few months ago and I have to say I'll never look back. Don't get me wrong. Olight makes a good utility light. However I don't trust it as a defensive light.

Another flaw (imho anyway) is the antiquated micro usb charging system.. You would think that AT LEAST with the pro model you would get superior water resistance and USB Type-C for faster charging capability.. Surefire seems to have fallen behind the competition and is content with resting on its laurels and the reputation associated with the Surefire brand while it’s competitors (I’m talking to you, Cloud Defense and Modlite) are now the ones bringing true innovation in that space.

*CORRECTION* : You can adjust the tailswitch from momentary to toggle on using the programming button, wait for the blue, then click the tailswitch. Doing so will keep it on constant, but disables the strobe.

I cheaped out and bought the EDC model not the pro. I regret that now. But even the EDC model is brighter than my 1000 lumen streamlight wedge. The wedge would be a really good light if it had a tail switch. I was impressed with the battery life of all of these lights. And a big failure to me for the EDC model is the pocket clip is not reversible. I like to have my flashlight pointing down in my pocket to protect the lens.
@scottburns5242 Жыл бұрын
I feel like the lense or more likely to get damaged by keys in my pocket than anything outside the pocket. Might be worth seeing if using a screen protector cut to fit on the lense would work on it without affecting the light.

i cant do the stiletto. i bought the arkfeld because of the sale and the more olights you have the more magnetic chargers you get. i would prefer the wedge especially with type c charging the laser kind of sealed the deal. i need to point at stuff i cant reach all the time. i watched a disassembly video and im not taking the stiletto apart or any of these to take advantage of a bigger batery i need to install or better charging. since ive been on the channel for so long ive got a bunch of great gear. i ended up buying an i5t and pen to get the gift so i think ill be looking for some of those dumb bulbs next which are very practical

I Surefire. But the excuse for the price, being made in America has to come with incredible function. Literally like not eating the best bread in the restaurant because the knife used to butter the bread isn't your favorite style. No worries man; you do you.

@@Falconryder it's a bad connector because it has a high rate of failure, carries less power and data, must be oriented correctly, and isn't the industry standard.
@ZaneDouglas12 жыл бұрын
I am in my fifties and I agree with UtiliTerran, not having the new standard USB-C on such an expensive light is a huge fail. As I get older, I have trouble seeing if a micro-USB is oriented in the right direction when trying to plug it in, and I have easily damaged such connections. There is a reason why the EU has adopted a new law requiring universal USB-C connectivity on all electronics starting in 2024. Surefire prides itself on being cutting edge and a leader in the industry, so it baffles me that they are using an outdated charging port.
