I love your detailed and very clear explanation!! Throughout the day, I'm using the mantra you suggested: "Your Chest is a Part of Your Neck" ...... (so that my Chest can help support the weight of my Head & Neck). This is so helpful. Thank you, Taro! ❤

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad to hear that the mantra "Your Chest is a Part of Your Neck" is resonating with you and helping you throughout the day. It's amazing how such simple shifts in awareness can make a big difference in how we move and carry ourselves.

I have just found your channel and am going to practice some of your techniques as I have been going to a chiropractor for many years for neck , back and shoulder pain and get instant release and relief but it always comes back. It would help to have a diagram or for you to physically show where towels should be placed. I know you tell us but as a visual learning it helps to see, for example I’m not sure where my mid back is so seeing where the towel should be in relation to the back would help greatly 😁 thank you for your videos I’m sure they are going to help ❤

This lesson was surprisingly effective in clearing my headache. I did the pre-exercise check and noted my head forward posture and the effort required to hold my head up. Next I lay down as required and followed the instructions. Once finished I had a better standing posture and my head was balanced on top of my shoulders. Headache gone! The lesson helped me feel my shoulders and head connection. Thanks Taro.

I’ve noticed my where my clavicle connects to my chest is always extra crunchy when my neck is more uncomfortable I broke my left clavicle years ago and it’s shorter and my right side of my neck has been the issue. I have found that using a scarf under my neck and wrapping around my hands and providing gentle traction from the base of my neck towards my head has been a great benefit.

Thx Taro, You just light the candle to help my body. I am hopeless with my chronic neck and shoulder pains. I did a LOT of exercises but my pains didn’t recover as I expected 😢. And you’re right! That’s connect to the WHOLE. (my subconscious, habit, nervous system, exercise) Millions thanks 💖💖💖

Yes, now I’m back to strength training I have noticed my cranky neck has gone- I believe that’s due to my upper body training (all done at home with the help of a lovely Pilates and kettlebell lady instructor). I am 60. Thank you Taro ❤

Yes, Taro, before and after the lesson, found the difference and observed the connection of the neck with the chest. Wonderful, thank you.

I'll try this out. But what's the difference between that and laying on the carpet with a cushion behind your neck ??
@TaroIwamoto7 ай бұрын
A towel needs to be places directly under your mid back, thoracic spine so it facilitates thoracic extension. A placing a cushion behind neck and head facilitates flexion of neck and thoracic spine. To support your head more efficiently, your thoracic spine needs to be under the head.

I'd love if you could create a video on something that could help costochondritis! I know it would help a lot of people.

I have neck hump too with neck and hip pain . What is the root cause of neck hump please ?
@TaroIwamoto11 ай бұрын
habitual movement patterns :) you carry those patterns in all your functional activities (flexing through mid back). If you're not aware of those patterns, you'll be kept in the same patterns. Awareness matters! Attention matters. The only way you can become more aware of your body is that you connect with your body, learn to sense and feel your body from the inside.

@@TaroIwamoto Thank you ! How can the hump be eliminated ?
@TaroIwamoto11 ай бұрын
@@faribayagoobian7721 I recommend you check my Posture playlist, and watch some of my posture videos, and take some time to pay close attention to your body, and become aware of your habitual movement patterns. Then, you'll begin to understand how the hump was developed, then you'll know exactly how you can train yourself out of your habitual patterns.

So close to relief but my neck cannot get comfortable. It rolls back too much when I lay down

My apology, but honestly that shoudnt really matter because I want you to not look at the screen while doing this so you can connect with your body and feel and sense your body from the inside.
