I heard there was a miscommunication on the budget and they didn't realize marketing was supposed to come out too so they toned down the final battle by having him forget the guns

@@nathanmills5311This isn’t the only thing cut and changed. The movie was supposed to have twice as many action scenes, but due to budget restrictions, they filled in most of that time with extra scenes between Wade and Vanessa. Vanessa originally was written as a very minor character with not a lot of screen time. On top of that, they also wanted Garrison Kane to fight alongside Wade throughout the movie and be a part of the final battle. His arms are bionic and he can change them at Will to take on different shapes. Too expensive though, so that was entirely removed from the script. Weasel was also supposed to be a small role, with Weasal’s Boss, the owner of the bar in which Wade hangs out, playing a more prominent role. But they had to remove the idea of the boss completely, and so they gave Weasel a bigger role. Next, they went through a massive laundry list of X-Men characters to debut in the movie, but the Studio denied every single one of them, until they finally came to Negasonic Teenage Warhead. To which the studio replied, “Negasonic what?” And that became an actual joke in the final movie. “Negasonic Teenage - What the shit?!? That’s the coolest name ever!!” . Now, these are all cuts and changes made before the movie production even was started. Mere days before Production began, the studio cut $8 Million USD from the budget. Which caused more cuts. 1st) Ajax was supposed to have way more henchman, most of which were Superhumans created in the same mutant program Wade was created. They were reduced to just a tight knit group of street thugs, with the one single mutant being the guy who is shot in the head and surviving, right before being skewered by Deadpool and immediately dying. 2nd) There was supposed to be a multi-minute long epic Motorcycle chase scene, where Deadpool gets on a motorcycle and rides through the streets battling on wheels with Ajax before he captures him and shoves his sword into Ajax’s shoulder. 3rd) The Final Battle at the end of the movie was supposed to be longer, and it was supposed to showcase Deadpool using his entire assortment of guns in his bag to slaughter an army of henchman, while the X-Men help him fight multiple mutant villains.

Deadpool forgetting his ammo actually has a reason. FOX kept cutting the budget for the movie and it resulted in them having to cut out a lot of action sequences. There was supposed to be a big gun fight at the end but FOX cut millions from their budget at the last minute so the way around that was to have Deadpool just forget his ammo bag. The "Studio couldn't afford another X-Man" line was also a shot at FOX over this as there was a lot of negotiation just to get the two they had.

@@ballybunion9Which is crazy to think about because they made the first in 2016 with only $58 Million USD….. which is truly absurd given how much most other comic book action movies at that time were being made for. Doctor Strange (2016). $165 Million for the budget. Avengers: Civil War (2016). $250 Million for the budget. X-Men Apocalypse ((A movie made by Fox)). $178 Million for the budget. . Deadpool 2016 was made with mere pennies comparatively……. And yet it broke the world record for Opening Weekend box office sales for an R-Rated movie, more than doubling the budget and making $132 Million.. **In just the first 3 days being released in only the US alone. They hadn’t even released it worldwide yet.** Then Deadpool 2 stole second place in for that R-Rated movie opening weekend record at $125 Million opening weekend. And now, yet again, Deadpool and Wolverine has utterly obliterated the first movie’s record by pulling in $250 Million in just the US alone on opening weekend.

Francis was able to pull off those feats of strength like bending the iron bar he impaled Wade on, because our brains stop us from maxing out our bodies and pain is the first signal for the brain to step in. Because Francis feels no pain, his brain never steps in and he can push his body way past standard limits of human ability. And yes, he's doing a lot of damage to himself this way but he can't feel the damage and so he doesn't care so long as he's not falling over.
@TSIRKLAND
@TSIRKLAND 23 күн бұрын
There are real people with a condition where they do not feel pain. (Several different conditions can have the same effect, as I understand it.) And it is actually extremely dangerous to your health, because pain is important! It notifies us of danger to our bodies. If you stepped on a nail and didn't feel it, you wouldn't know that you have a foreign object imbedded in your skin. It can fester, bacteria, gangrene, etc. If you were looking the other way and accidentally put your hand on a hot stove and had no pain receptors to tell you, your hand could be very badly burned. We would snatch our hand off right away, because our pain receptors would tell us to. When you don't have that, your hand stays there and gets cooked, until you happen to look, or happen to smell burning sausages and find out they're your fingers. Not experiencing pain is- in the real world- NOT a super power; it is a very dangerous weakness. Pain-free people have to be HYPER-aware of their surroundings, and of their own body, every moment of the day. Francis / Ajax pushes his body to- and past- the limit, but that's not always a good thing to do. He can continue fighting through serious trauma, because he doesn't KNOW that he is experiencing serious trauma. Without a superhuman healing factor, his body has to heal from that trauma, just like anybody's. Broken ribs, broken teeth, burned skin, punctured lung: these are not things to brush off lightly. It plays in the film, because it's a superhero action movie and he's the villain. But in real-world terms, it is not something to wish for. Just to clarify, for anyone who might be curious.

19:49 the point with human limitation is that you do not use your full strength as pain will hold you back. A normal human uses about 40-60% of their full strength. People with a mental disability have been known to be able to access up to 80% of their strength. Just not often, but they can at times toss their caretakes around. As Francis feels no pain at all he does not have the normal limitations and so can use his body's full strength. The full strength of humans is amazing as there have been reports of housewives(and I mean the never seen the inside of a gym types) lifting up cars and throwing them away because their baby was under the car. In that moment they could access their full strength for a short time. Francis has that full time.

The reason why there are X-Men in this movie and so many references to Wolverine has its roots in legal copyright-wrangling and IP-licensing. A couple decades back, when Marvel Comics was in financial straits, they licensed off the movie rights to many of their juiciest intellectual properties, like Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and X-Men to the highest bidder. Sony got Spider-Man and his rogue's gallery, and Fox got the X-Men, the concept of "mutants", and all associated IP - which included the character Deadpool. They already had a terrible version of the character in _X-Men Origins: Wolverine,_ which was _also_ played by Ryan Reynolds, but which got the character completely wrong and was universally disliked. At the time this movie was produced, Fox was still independent, and Marvel's movie-making side was a completely separate studio, doing their own thing. This is why _Deadpool_ can have mutants and the X-Men, but cannot feature or even _mention_ anything from the MCU; they were legally as distinct as the MCU and DC movies. In the meantime, Disney has bought up _everything in the world,_ including both Marvel and Fox, thus bringing the MCU side and the X-Men side back together under one roof. They have retroactively re-shuffled this movie under the Marvel banner, but at the time it was produced and released, this was _not_ a "Marvel Movie", in the conventional sense.

@@k5sss That's right! I didn't notice it until the second or third time watching it. But if you already know what to look for, you can see all the signs. In a couple of the shots you can glimpse the massive VTOL engines, but they're out of sight just as quickly. And at a couple of points during the fight you can see warning messages painted on the walls, about staying clear of the engines, etc. I wouldn't count that as a sign of them _expecting_ the buyout of Fox and merger with Marvel - I think that was just them being a bit cheeky and skirting as close to the legal bounds of their license as they dared.

So far, whether you like one movie or sequel over the other, it seems like Deadpool may have one of the best superhero trilogies, Deadpool & Wolverine having a 8+ on IMDb (and IMDb ratings can be petty). Others would probably include Dark Knight (Batman), Guardians of the Galaxy, MCU Spider-Man (the original Spider-Man 3 was more hated than any of the MCU Spider-Man movies), and Captain America (with a 4th movie coming, though a new mantle, would that count?).

You mention that all Marvel things are in the same universe. That wasn't true at the time of this movie and all the X-Men films, or now really. Fox Studios had the rights to X-Men and Marvel's mutants (and even Fantastic Four.) Their movies don't tie into the Avengers at all (originally...) and barely connect with each other. Similarly, Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man characters and made their movies independent of Marvel Studios. (Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield movies originally had no ties to Marvel Studios.) They came around and worked with Marvel Studios for Tom Holland's Spider-Man, but still do their own independent movies with Venom and Morbius and other related characters.

Not just Wade. Anybody. They bet on each other and even celebrities. If you pause it, you'll see Kanye West and a few others on the board

All things Marvel are not in the same universe but are in the same Multi-Verse. There are hundreds of universes for Marvel. The X-Men are in a different universe at this time than the MCU until they introduce the Multi-Verse and crossovers begin to happen. Deadpool is the name of the betting pool for who will die. The after-credit scene which is taken from Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) is a movie that also breaks the 4th wall.

You are an excellent talent and a very smart person! Plus very easy on the eyes! That being said, you are entertained by the movie “DEADPOOL”. That is the point you are a young adult who is entertained that’s what the makers of the movie wanted to do and they were allowed to do that. This doesn’t happen anymore. The will to franchise creates only the desire to manipulate an audience instead of entertaining them. Hopefully the producers of movies will self-destruct the way they did with musicals back in the 60s and those wish to entertain Aiden by the rating system will be able to go back to doing so.

This post reads like you’re saying Deadpool released in the 1990s lmao. It was released on Valentine’s Day of 2016. I’ll never forget it. Paid close to $100 to take a girl to see it on opening day at a really expensive theater. We saw it in the HD Cinema room lol. I was a 17 year old senior in high school, so spending almost $100 while mostly still on an allowance was crazy for me 😂 I had been saving birthday money and my allowance, and used a good chunk of it on that. Only to find out 2 days later that she had been in a relationship with another guy for a year, and he didn’t want to do anything with her for Valentine’s Day. So when I walked up to her a week before Valentine’s Day and asked her if she wanted to go see Deadpool on opening day together, she took the opportunity immediately. Didn’t even hesitate 😂 . That was only 8 years and 6 months ago since Deadpool released. This movie is still really new. I could understand if this was a video of her reacting to the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the first time, because absolutely; They do NOT make movies with that level of practical effects anymore. All modern Disney MCU movies are made with insane levels of cgi and green screens and body capturing technology. The only thing about those movies that are real are the actors and a few set pieces, like buildings or houses on earth they’re standing in. Deadpool was the most recent exception to that. The first movie was made basically for pennies compared to the budgets of other superhero movies at the time. Deadpool 1 was made for $58 Million. That same exact year, Avengers: Civil War was released, and it’s budget was $250 Million. 5 times larger than the budget of Deadpool. Deadpool had no choice but to be made with less cgi and more practical effects than most other superhero movies, and because of that it looks way better. It’s not just weightless, glossy images of actors running in a green room with wires. Yes, there’s cgi in Deadpool, but it’s done right and it’s done in small enough amounts that when you do see scenes with heavy cgi; it actually looks good. They had bigger budgets for those smaller scenes than if they tried to make the whole thing with primarily cgi.

Wdym it makes sense now? Deadpool is mutant. He always been. And mutants are marvel, they always been. Yes, iron man, captain america, thor, lock, hulk are breathing the same air as wolverine, cyclops, storm, and deadpool

Not an expert so grain of salt and all that, but I think they oversimplified the origin story a bit. I think I remember from the comics that they didn’t activate dormant genes in the clinic, they used samples from existing known mutants and implanted them. In Deadpool’s case, samples from Wolverine so they knew in advance if it worked he would heal.
