Yes, I heard that from a Russian lady I knew who left the Soviet union and came to America. She said they didn't want people to have kids because they had to work. So they made the only consistent form of birth control to be an abortion. And many many women had a lot of abortions. It was about as emotional to them as getting a tooth filling. They became numb.

Lukewarm: Fan of Christ but not his disciples! Excellent description. Sadly there too many of those within the Priesthood, hence in the laity. So, we as parents and grandparents, need to do our job showing our kids how to be a disciple of Christ (with zeal for the Lord), even if it’s not popular. The 101th anniversary of this unlawful act is almost upon us. Abortion had been a huge problem in Russia before it became known as the RSFSR, after abortion was made"legal" doctors in hospitals preformed them rather than the usual midwives, abortion brought more issues as by the mid 1920's hospitals were so congested with women having abortions there was no room for the ill and so special clinics were opened for the overflow, abortion was allowed for any reason and it was free to every woman of childbearing age. Lenin a most evil man , also allowed famine kill millions and in certain areas cannibalism became the norm because it. Russia has indeed spread her errors and Our Lady's warnings at Fatima in 1917 have not been heeded, nor has the Order given by Jesus, through her in 1929; for Russia to be consecrated to her Immaculate Heart not been carried out by any Pope since 1929. We as a people also have to take our responsibility in all of this too, we get what we pray for (the state of the church - the state of the world), we as Catholics since 1917 have not prayed or fasted enough. Father , you forgot to list parents who abuse their children and tell the children it's their own fault, an put on a facade to the world to make it look like a normal family with a bad child.
