dignity of the office how about the 'sisters' who gave up their habits and you couldn't tell they were a 'sister' if you tripped over them.
@aperta75253 жыл бұрын
It is the Mercy of Jesus that clothes His brides in His Virtues, not a habit. Adornments and external signs are *accessories*. Just like how the Church is Holy by virtue of belonging to Christ, not by Her adornments or leadership or other members. Even St Teresa of Avila would agree (and she would know from immediate, direct, personal experience). So stop looking down on His brides for how they appear on the surface, or you'll wind up indicted by God on Pride and contempt. The sin is in not loving your neighbor as yourself. Be sorry for tripping over a Sister, because they are a Sister? Not because they are a human being created bearing the Image of God and created to bear His likeness? That is ridiculous. Get back to our roots (the Vine), hon.
@fairyspunfibers90983 жыл бұрын
While Aperta is correct, in part, the bottom line does seem to indicate (on the Sisters' part) a desire to become one with the world, rather than one with God. Unseemly behavior usually (but not always!) follows the doffing of the religious habit in favor of "street clothing". I have seen very bad behavior (things that would have sickened me even in my rebellious years) with a particular Order of Sisters in my own city and it is really, REALLY bad. :/ While "the habit does not make the Sister", it can certainly remind her of her Vows and to Whom she really belongs!

The main issue that this video addresses, is a very common problem not limited solely to the subject discussed. It fact, its a wide spread problem that affects almost every discussion. So what is this problem? To make a longer, more complicated answer easy to understand, the problem is basically 'ignorance'. Lets see how many that upsets! But its true. What we have happening here, has been discussed countless times. We have a society that now receives its information, mainly via the internet, at their own discretion. Many/most people, especially younger people, millennial generation and gen z aged especially, are the worst affected. These groups have come to believe that information is synonymous with knowledge. The typical example is the person who watches a youtube video on how to "fix something", and actually believes that watching that 5 minute video, has given them the same level of knowledge as someone who's been trained and is experienced. Now, thats just a very basic, general example... But, what happens is, you have these people now days who pick up some information, (now in this case), while watching/listening to Father Ripperger talk about possession and other spiritual matters. In other words, topics of discussion that are typically very complex, have "gray areas", and where outside factors can affect whats being discussed. So, you take a complex topic like this, and then apply the "School of KZbin Philosophy" to it, and you get the kind of problems we're seeing constantly. Which basically amounts to, people cherry picking certain words and phrases from the discussion, and applying the conclusions they heard during that particular discussion. Of course while unintentionally getting the facts wrong, using the wrong terms (which they don't understand) and applying what they heard, to the wrong scenarios. And again, this is ALL because they have NO knowledge of what they're saying, they're only saying what they THINK they heard. BUT the main and SCARY issue at hand these days, is that MANY those people who are repeating what they THINK they heard, honestly believe that they have the actual KNOWLEDGE of the topic, simply because they watched a discussion, and they feel competent enough to repeat it with authority.. And thats pretty scary!

Thanks Father and Ryan for bringing up male modesty, it's a subject that needs to be spoken about as much as female modesty, I blame a lot of it on wearing tracksuits as everyday wear, I saw this take a trend in the 1990's , sportswear is obviously for sports and if tracksuit bottoms are deemed everyday clothes so are sports shorts, tops etc.,. It reminded me of the "Fashion" trend that princess Diana started by wearing black satin pyjamas to a formal gathering a trend that never stopped. Most of the clothes today are based off sports items for both men and woman and though immodest they all look the same and have no style either. We even see this with infants being dressed in jerseys too, frankly I prefer babies to be dressed in cottons and hand knitted garments. I really don't think it's about comfort , I think it's about labels, the more expensive the label the more "fashionable" the person thinks they are. Many think immodesty in dress started after world war II, I strongly disagree it started after world war I and pushed into what became the roaring twenty's.
@ChooksnMeezers2 жыл бұрын
Where I live, it has become common for certain men (and there are quite a lot of them) to pretty much NEVER dress in anything other than jeans and informal shirts (T-shirts or flannel shirts). Not even "nice" jeans, dark colored and with no holes or worn areas, as is acceptable in certain Western states but in their grubby, worn jeans they use every day, day in and day out. Even for events like Mass, holidays, and weddings. Even when the woman they are accompanying is dressed up semi-formally. They look like idiots and their lack of virtue/modesty is glaring. Ironically, they seem to think the type of clothing that is appropriate for such events is effeminate - buttoned up shirts, slacks, suits, etc - and that dressing 'down' is somehow more "manly". The complete opposite of what is true. I wish they could hear Father give them an earful of what is modest and actually virtuous! Remember, virtue equals virility, boys!

Thank you Fr. Ripperger and Sensus Fidelium channel for making this video, it has been very informative and clarifying.Hope, there will be more like this in future. There is one particular topic and question that need clarity at least for me(but i think many would benefit). What shall we catholics do, if we can not attend TLM because of distance and aswell is it sinful to receive Holy Communion on hands if there is no way to receive on tounge? It has been many post discussing this but opinions differ..I would love clarity on this,i receive on hands(i cant on tounge because everywhere i go, they only give communion on hands) but am too confused if its ok. Love to receive, but just thinking that it could be sacrilege it's terrifying. Please, Fr Ripperger tell us what should we do? Carry on or stop receiving? i welcome any answer, i(and many others) just need to know true..
@VanessasDailyJournal3 жыл бұрын
The Church only REQUIRES you to receive communion once a year. And it is required that you receive during the Easter season. You are required to go to Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of obligation. But you don’t have to go up to communion.
@Logan-rq7wg3 жыл бұрын
Whenever I go to a Novus Ordo mass, I still kneel and receive on the tongue, even though there is no altar rail and kneeler. It has never caused a problem. The sight of you doing so will probably even encourage others to start doing it. Just kneel down on the floor in front of the priest/deacon receive that way. I see some people who give a profound bow and then receive on the tongue while standing, but we should kneel if we are able (old/crippled people sometimes can't). That all being said, there is simply never a need to receive on the hand. Reception on the tongue is still the official way within the Latin Rite (on-the-hand is an indult). It's good that you want to avoid Communion on the hand, but you should never have to omit Communion over it when it is so easy to receive on the tongue, even at a Novus Ordo mass.

I got back into anime a couple years ago and am just getting out of it again.. I can tell you that all the new content is either about demons or has some extremely lustful, suggestive material (bordering on hentai) in it, or both. The sexual relationships have degraded to such a point that it's teacher/student or straight up incest (no joke), and that's really most of the the new anime these days. I avoided it as best I could but even the most innocent anime out there isn't event close to acceptably innocent. There's really nothing good coming from anime these days, the taste is straight from hell for most it, in my opinion.

@@PontoLyone You know, now that you say it like that, I think I agree. I myself have tried to get back into Anime and I can't do it. I mean, I can rewatch classics like Trigun or Cowboy Beebop or Gundam, but there are some Anime that I remember liking that I can't even rewatch. I'm thinking of Blue Exorcist, The Devil Is a Partimer, Chrono Crusade, Black Butler, Seikirei, Hellsing. I'll be watching an anime that seems innocent enough, like Rune Soldier or Legend of Legendary Heroes and I'll think to myself, " would l want my son to watch this?" The answer is no. The hero of Legend of Legendary Heroes literally makes contracts with the demons of the geopolitical area he's in to gain magic. In Rune Solider, the prototypical white mage character is basically told she should be prepared to sleep with the main hero to properly serve her god of war. Even better if it's against her will. Yeah, upon further reflection, I think I agree.

I like Cardinal Burkes answer to all this bickering. He says truth. I believe Fr Ripperger says it also, just in a little more vague way. His talk on how Trads are on verge of pride and pushes a good movement away from a positive point, is a good observation. It turns me off from watching most. But then again that might be a good thing.

I’ve only just embarked on the traditional way, and that’s what scares me, most. We are such fickle beings. Some New order, or novus order reeks in modernism, but from what I can see, so far, they are also better at getting across the message that if we don’t have love, we have nothing. In some cases, traditionalists come off as bad as Islam, in that I see no love coming across. No one who puts on a veil, or can pray in Latin, is any better than anyone else...it is simply that these actions are more pleasing to God..which makes them that much more beautiful; that’s all....and I must make a point to keep this in the forefront of my brain. I don’t want to morph into a noxious toe rag, whom no one wants to be around. 😂🙏

@@MTR_06 thank you I so agree with that. Some podcasts do really make you feel embarrassed and just distraught for only have the option of NO. Our NO right now is bad. Banners everywhere, priest so irreverent during consecration and even distributing Holy Host, even cleaning the chalice. It makes me cringe. I've been in turmoil whether to go at all. Fr Ripperger said if it feels like it injures your faith it's a grave enough reason not to go. Still discerning.
@gerettaball78673 жыл бұрын
Also, I think you're right about the love part. But it's not the "fuzzy feelings" we are supposed to come away with. It's for God not for us. It's the sacrifice of God's love for us through the Mass, thats where we should derive our feelings of love from, not the homily.. So when its reduced to the priests homily, of how it makes us feel. I think thats where we become protestant.

Would it be possible to put a drop of exorcised olive oil in a bottle of essential oil to make sure it doesn’t have a hex on it?

Well, *I* would certainly do so and, yes, it is possible, of course. Would it be efficacious? I dunno, but it sure wouldn't harm anything (um, except possibly the curse!). We use exorcised salt/holy water in everything we eat and drink, but it never occurred to me to do the same for our meds!

These posts come from a meme page called "Comments from Christian Pages on Pictures of Theologians". There it is obvious that all the quotes are fake and if they are shared from there you cannot mistake it as real. But if people copy the image and post it instead of sharing it, that is how the misquoting happens.
