@@lilleong5741 They're pretty innocuous prayers. If you feel like you need a spiritual director then by all means. They merely ask the Blessed Mother, Our Lord Jesus, God the Father, and the angels to protect us and our families from evil. They really work. I work around occultists and (possibly) satanists. They don't even see me. I'm cloaked with the Precious Blood of Our Lord.

I get very anxious in crowds because of Asperger's. Ever since I found out that everyone has a guardian angel, and that we could be friends with them, I started invoking the angels of each place that I go. It is very helpful. I will get intrusive thoughts about everyone in the building despising me. But then I will prayerfully remind myself, that at the very least, I have a friendly companion for every person here. What the priest said about nightmares was interesting. I used to get nightmares nonstop when I was a young child. It makes me wonder if something terrible happened in our house before we moved in. It definitely seemed diabolical. One time I remember having the same nightmare three nights in a row. It was always based on my worst fears and insecurities. I'm not sure what made them stop, and I honestly don't remember. But I'd like to hope that it was prayer. Perhaps I began to ask God to watch over me at night, even as an uncatechized Protestant.

Keith Hammond, do you happen to remember or know if your childhood home was blessed by a priest? I seriously hope and pray 🙏 that my and my family's childhood home was. I'm not sure if my parents had told me growing up. I just know they are terribly missed and my brother and I pray 🙏 for their souls often. Having Mass offered for the salvation of their souls. We sometimes had odd things happen in our lives in our childhood as I remember. But now realize whether it was perceived as good, bad or indifferent, I hope and pray it was all according to His Holy, ordaining and permitting will. @@AMDG_-nk2dp Hello there. I did not become a Catholic until 30. My family was United Church Protestant, and so we would have had no concept of house blessings. I can't be certain, as memories do play tricks on us, but I think that I began praying at night out of fear, and that is likely what mitigated the issue. I don't own my own house, and so I have not had my house blessed even now. However, once I found out about sacramentals, I placed some properly blessed St Benedict medals around, since they are basically an exorcism that you can carry around with you. I said a prayer for your parents departed souls. If you can, please say a prayer for my Dad's dearly departed soul. Thank you. God bless.
