The Tears of Our Lady of Sorrows

The tears of Mary…the weeping of the Virgin…the lacrimations of the Sorrowful Mother were present at Calvary…at the Cross her station keeping stood the mournful mother weeping. They were tears of grief for the sufferings and death endured by her Divine Son. There was weeping and mourning over the sins of men which brought about the brutal crucifixion. But although those tears were wiped away by our dearest Lord when He first visited His Blessed Mother on Easter Sunday, giving her joy beyond all telling, it seems that Our Lady of Sorrows still weeps. Though she experiences perfect happiness in heaven in the beatific vision, the Holy Virgin mystically weeps as she maintains a connection with the Church militant here below. Statues, paintings, and other icons of Mary have literally wept as a sign of her continued mystical sorrows. The tears Our Lady of Sorrows shed for her Son on Calvary, are now shed for the Mystical Body of Christ, the Catholic Church and her members. She weeps because the Church is persecuted. She sheds tears because many of God’s Children are unfaithful to and abandon the Catholic Church which is the one and only way of salvation. Mary mystically weeps because many priests and bishops betray the Church as Judas betrayed Jesus. An example of Mary weeping is seen in the apparition of Our Lady of Akita to Sr. Agnes Sasagawa. The other day, during the homily, our priest spoke on the day's psalm, "In perfect peace, Lord, are those who love Your Law.". He said whoever lived that way would not have peace but guilt. Disappointed, I quickly recalled that JESUS said to obey His commandments, tho none keep them perfectly due to our fallen nature. Into my mind sprang an image of Our Lady if Sorrows, with swords in her heart. I watched as she removed one of the swords, showed me the word 'PRIESTS' engraved on the blade. Her eyes locked with mine, she plunged it back into her heart. But she wept not.....I have never had a vision like that of her before of which i'm aware. What then, is the narrow way, if we do not strive to obey His commandments? Lawlessness abounds, in the name of false freedom, and look at the state of this nation!!
