The Blessed Mother is a tower of strength for us. St. John Vianney: "Struggles put us at the foot of the Cross, and the Cross at the gate of heaven" and we will find Mary both at the foot of the Cross and at the Gate of Heaven. Saint Bernard: "Our Lady's sufferings amount to more than all of the suffering of all of the rest of the Saints combined." The dead boy in the Gospel reading is symbolic of a soul in moral sin and a public sinner at that (the whole town was there to see him dead). Both repentance AND perseverence are necessary for salvation. After confession, be prepared to fight battles against temptation. A consideration by St. Alphonsus Liguori of the spiritual challenges faced by relapsing sinners. A reflection on Sampson and the folley of thinking we will always have recourse to confession after falling into sin. Review the battle plan for overcoming habitual sin. I never asked her to pray for me my whole life then this May I begged her to do it because I had this vice that had almost overwhelmed me and the next day the desire, the thought about the vice has disappeared. Before I get to this, during Lent asked God if it is ok to ask Mary to pray for me and my heart was filled with peace about it and I researched the apparitions and listened to podcasts to get to know her. I wondered in so many protestant churches that is why I thought we pray to her until I saw Dr Pitre Brant videos explaining that we ask her to pray for us and venerate her. Now I am in love with The 7 sorrows of Mary rosary. I never had a mother and I have one now . Glory to God who gave us a mother

I was put in an orphanage at 5 months (with my two sisters). Made a Ward of the state, lived in foster care (one 10 minute interaction with birth mother at aged 11). I also now have a mother!💕💕🙏🏻. I love Her. (I believe I heard her voice when I was asking a question. The answer came before the question was finished. It was a female voice that by describing it as having a softness does NOT sufficiently express what I heard.) Baptised 2015, I’m now aged 69.

Some of this would be called HERECY if people wernt afraid to speak up-I was a bad heroin addict and after a conversion experience i continued slipping on paydays but after a few months, the strength i got from confession overcame the addiction. Our Lord will always welcome us, he would never turn us away. Even if your going to confession til d day u die for the same sin. His mercy knows NO LIMITS, ITS FATHOMLESS. I pray the rosary and lady of sorrows rosary with my daily prayers to this day cause of the fear of slipping back Some poor people think our lord will never forgive them, and they watch a video like this. I think the Priest is talking about those who were given forgiveness and return to their sin thinking they can always go to confession. I look at it as abuse of the Sacrament of Penance. No sorrow or want to change.

I agree Raphael Michael. It was at that point during the sermon I lost some interest in the person speaking. God's mercy is infinite, especially since Jesus came and died for our sins. Samson was pre-Jesus and the speaker fails to point this out. But I hope Maria Elana's take on it is correct, in that the speaker (a priest?), isn't great at preaching. Maybe he has improved since the video was made. I hope so or more people will go away not understanding that God's forgiveness is infinite. Good comment Raphael!

To honor The Mother is always to Honor The Son. Spiritually what Better a Mother, than The Mother Christ Himself?! She does - and Only Can - LEAD Us To HIM! She takes nothing for herself, all Glory to God in The Highest! She is not God. Yet what she is, is the one 'conceived without sin', conceived without sin as to be The Tabernacle of The Lord. No, she is not our Lord. - she is not prayed TO. It is similar to those who may ask their own Mother or Father or friend to pray For You, on Your Behalf.. yet she is The MOTHER of Christ, whom better to ask. Who better would know The Son more than His Mother? Do you think honoring her displeases Jesus in any way? At the foot of the cross, Jesus said to Saint John "This is Your Mother and to her He said "woman, this is your son". She is humanity's Mother, the one who said yes to eve's no. She as all those in Heaven can sin no more - so she all Saints in Heaven can ONLY lead us closer to God, and how much more her prayers her asking than those of your friends or family whom we ask to pray for us. Mary is in the bible and part of the gospel story. (Martin Luther isn't) The bible that prots (claim to) believe tells us that she gave up her life, her body and her freedom to bring JESUS TO THE HUMAN RACE. it also tells us that she is blessed among women, that the LORD is with her and that all generations will call her blessed. Mary cannot do anything for you. She is just as a sinner as we all are. God said in Exodus to not put other gods before Him. Not to worship other idols and condemned the Hebrews when they went off and worshipped other gods. By worshiping Mary, who is just another human like us, you are violating Gods law. You must worship the Lord and Him alone. Where in the Bible does it say Mary can heal you or Mary can intercede for you? No where. It does say that Jesus is our Great High Priest and He and He alone has the power to set us free. Jesus said "I am the way, and the truth, and the life and no man comes to the Father but by me."~John 14:6 Jesus interceds for us Roman's 8:34 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18 shows is that prayer is worship. When the veil was torn the Spirit of God moved through the world giving us complete access to Him directly. You dont need to Confess your sins to a priest who can do nothing for you. God says to repent and ask for forgiveness yourself and realign yourself with His will. We all fall short which is why we need Jesus. You cant work for your salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 makes that clear. You can pray to.God on your own. You don't need Mary to intercede because she wont. She is not God. She is the Mother of Jesus, a human just as all of us.

To remove yourself from the hold of the devil you must perform acts of mortification on your sences. Fasting especially is strong. Perhaps you could start by picking one day a week where you fast on bread and water until 6 pm. This can be difficult at 1st. Also little acts of mortifications throughout the day. Devotion to the sacred heart and the 1st 9 fridays. (Look it up and see what our Lord PROMISES you). But you must persevere and it could take time. And of course ask the Queen of heaven to always intercede.

I must be honest while I appreciate most of the homilies on this channel, this one I feel does more harm than good. It may well turn away souls desperate for help and instead finding further despairing and may make them to simply surrender, believing there to be no way they can escape and that God hates them. It is foolish and wrong to make them believe such. If that were the case, God would not call us back to begin with. There is always hope and always a way, elsewise why would God call them back? To watch them suffer in vain?! Our Lord is not cruel, just of course and stern and even harsh when the need is present, but never cruel.

Mary, sister of Lazarus, was not Mary Magdalene. Lazarus and his sisters lived in Bethany, a few miles from Jerusalem. Magdala, where the Magdalene came from, was in Galilee, the north. Moreover, what happened to the teachings that God never tires of forgiving - the Divine Mercy, for one? What happened to explaining about the help Our lady of Sorrows gives? Sin is the lie that makes us complicit with Satan, and if one could experience the real hideousness of the state, it would be traumatic. Sin must be avoided, but there's a reason that Jesus left us the sacrament of Confession. Too much contempt for the sinner in your voice, when there should be sorrow and suffering for the person in a wretched condition. I love St. Thomas Aquinas, but I was shocked that he might of tagged the dead youth from Naim a habitual sinner. The Gospel says absolutely nothing about his spiritual state, just that he was deceased, and no more. If he were saying "Let's say or just imagine that the boy....," that is one thing. But, to assert he was a habitual sinner? The Church teaches that all people have a right to their reputation, and no one has a right to impugn another. All of us suffer death because of the consequence of sin, even the St. Thomas and you. And, many a spiritually wretched person became a saint and is now in the registers of the Church.

Wil liam, who is the author of they holy woman's life? Who is the author of all the holy ones whom the Catholic Church honor? Each and everyone who has entered Heaven has done so by the grace of God. Mary cannot do anything for you. She is just as a sinner as we all are. God said in Exodus to not put other gods before Him. God says to repent and ask for forgiveness yourself and realign yourself with His will. We all fall short which is why we need Jesus. You cant work for your salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 makes that clear. You can pray to.God on your own. You don't need Mary to intercede because she wont. She is not God. She is the Mother of Jesus, a human just as all of us.

Collin Shaw I recommend you read the last chapters of Exodus-chapters 26-30 where God specified in minute detail how his dwelling place is to be built. The Holy of Holies” where His spirit will dwell when He is with the Israelites. This same, immutable God, creates a creature, from whose flesh He will take flesh. She will accept with her Fiat to become the mother of our Messiah and all the suffering this will entail. She has a joyful forty days with the infant Jesus before she and St. Joseph present Jesus at the temple. The high priest Simeon reveals to her all that our Lord will suffer in His passion and that she too will suffer her own martyrdom as she watches her beloved son and savior be ridiculed, mocked, beaten and eventually killed. This is no ordinary woman. God almighty created the ultimate tabernacle for his beloved son, the new Eve who like the first Eve, was created without original sin. The difference is that Mary, the new Eve, with her perfect humility and unwavering desire to obey God, would crush the head of the serpent. We don’t worship Mary, we venerate her. As in the Old Testament, the queen mother sat at the right hand of the king and it was to her that people went to bring their petitions to the king, so it is that we bring our petitions to our spiritual mother and ask for her intercession. If we ask friends to pray for us, how much more efficacious would the prayers of Christ own mother be on our behalf. Think of the wedding at Cana and how he performs his first miracle at her request even though he says it’s not yet his time to start his public ministry. There is a great book called the Jewish Roots of Mary that you may want to look at before you disparage the mother of God by claiming that she’s a sinner. Nowhere in the Bible is there anything that points to Mary being a sinner-on the contrary, her will was always perfectly aligned with God’s. When perplexed by something, her reaction was never rebellion but to ponder everything in her heart. Jesus gave her to us as a spiritual mother for a reason. Every last word of our Savior on the cross was for reason. His statement to the beloved apostle John about Mary is no exception. Also, if Jesus had had brothers and sisters as Protestants claim, it would have been contrary to Jewish tradition for Mary to have gone to live with St. John-she would have gone to live with one of her other sons or relatives. Do some research on this topic-as the Holy Spirit to guide you and have an open mind. God bless!

So when you ask your friends to pray for you, you are assuming they are more righteous than Our Lady? Did you read the church fathers? The ones who knew apostles and who gave their apostolic authority to the next bishop etc and who were venerating Mary? When did the rogue catholic priest rebelled ? He worshipped like the church fathers and apostles, venerated Mary until his scrupulousity made him break from the church. The Bible was put together by the catholic church, how do you think Christians were worshipping before that? God will not hear our prayers if the Spirit is not involved. Yes the Catholics may have been the first to write out and canonize the Bible but since we have copies of the original manuscripts we can know what the Bible says and the original meanings of the words in their original languages.

Devotion to Mary always leads to God - the more one loves her the more one shall better serve the Son
