The jury was an absolute disgrace! They took way too long to render a verdict, the evidence was definitely overwhelming, and the Prosecution bent over backwards to be nice to Telles during sentencing. He showed no remorse and took no responsibility. He should have gotten Life Without Parole.

No, that's not how "life with parole after 22 years" works. He gets the opportunity, that's it. Diane Downs was given "life with parole after 25 years" in 1984. She's still in prison 40 years later.

This part of the trial is the most interesting part, because families and others can share what impact this was for them, and having the defendant witness their painful emotions -- most naturally sentencing is heavy burden for any jury to decide - defense attorney gave a good argument for sentencing like a moral decision to make -- then prosecutor attorney argument turns it upside down -what is the appropriate punishment

I want to know why in cases where the defendant pleads not guilty, wastes everyone's time and expense of a jury trial, takes the stand, raises his right hand to tell the truth, then is found guilty, isn't immediately charged with perjury, since he clearly intentionally lied to the court. Paroleis NEVER given to one the first time,or when they claim innocent or if they get in trouble. They make sure the person is reabilitaded, accepts and knows what they dod and that it was wrong and that it wont happen again. They dont have a crystal ball but they do want to see change and acceptance of guilt.

The elder daughter will have not forgot her biological father but to say by the ex wife I hope one day he can walk their daughter down the isle is not possible. She could get married when she is of age. Robert will be serving twenty years before parole. Therefore it will be an impossibility. All the families will move on. Of course the narcissist didn't stand for the jury as they left the room, people with antisocial personality disorder don't respect rules or people, sometimes they can pretend to when they have to. All they actually have any deep feelings about is what happens to them. I don't know if he'll ever feel any remorse for taking Mr. German's life, I don't think he's capable of that. I know he regrets killing him now that he's been found guilty, but for all the wrong reasons. He's regretting that his life has been adversely affected and regret isn't the same as remorse.
