This is probably my favorite Iron Man suit besides Extremis. It's represented beautifully here, I love it.

@@nicholasleon787 Not at all, although I understand the confusion. Both were heavily featured as Iron Man's default look in the mid/late 2000s, but Extremis was featured more in stories while this suit (dubbed the "Pentagon armor") was more prominent in promo material. The story "Extremis" by Warren Ellis with art by Adi Granov explicitly shows the Pentagon armor being replaced by the Extremis suit, which gets its name because it can only be operated effectively with exposure to Tony's modified Extremis virus.

Nice idea. Hopefully they will do more figures that armour up . That was one of my wishes to have tony stark armour up for battle or armour down to go party.

I wonder, is possible to pop the shoulders outwards? It would give the the arms clearance to move, just like on the legs. Good review Vangelus.

Love this figure, but I agree that the shoulders are quite "fiddly". You can keep the shoulder pauldrons half on and get better forward range of motion. The scale here is close enough that Tony can fit in with 6" scale Marvel Legends figures.

Reminds me a lot of the Saint Seiya Myth Cloth or Armor Plus stuff. Too bad about the shoulders; I might of tried seeking one out if not for that.

beware the hips if they are ball joints, many an Armor Plus Ronin Warrior figure has suffered the sockets braking from just standing on a shelf holding their own weight up

I love the concept of an Iron Man I can slap parts onto (Saint Seiya style, ohgodyes)... But I don't feel it adds anything to the Pentagon Armour... S.K.I.N.? Yes. Model 13/Modular/Cartoon Armour? Double yes. Extremeis? Duh. Comics 42/Black & Gold? Totally. Armored Adventures MK1/2/? Hell yes. It's a gorgeous toy, no doubts about that, but the armour parts do... Basically nothing but hinder shoulder articulation (Which is tantamount to heresy) For me, at least. Whatever floats your boat. I'll just be over here sulking that Armored Adventures didn't get any decent toys. (Armour isn't even a word anymore)

I'd say this actually his "Modern" armour from around 2004. This is the armour he had before he got Extremis which is the armour more associated with Adi Granov. Sentinel do good stuff and this is no exception imo

So, I'm sure you've considered this, and when I say it you will shoot me down and we will all laugh, but...are those shoulder pads on upside down? Aesthetically, they *look* right, but it seems like they would still fit that aesthetic in reverse, and the bottom appears to provide more freedom than the top in terms of space available for articulation. Simply my two cents on the matter, though, and I have not owned this figure, so perhaps there is one very definite and immutable option for connecting these pieces; I cannot know. I simply thought I would weigh in on the matter based on my observations.

Vangelus So I wanted to ask you about the Metallic Armorize Iron Man and I know it came out a year or more after its initial release, and the original solicitations announced a updated shoulder design. You being a toy guru in the industry living closer then I do, Vermont where none of that shit happens, was hoping you knew a thing or 2 about that release. As it is if it's same EXACT shoulder design I may cancel my order but I like the idea of the figure everything accept getting annoyed with the shoulder pads falling off. The knee swap doesn't bother me but I like my Sentinel toys to have movement without things falling off. Please lmk if you know these answers I seek, OR if you can somehow find out real quick for me. XD I mostly deal with Transformers but i also like my Marvel Avengers, VOLTRON, Star Wars, MOTU, & GIJOE too. Thanks if you can help me find if they WERE able to update the design or not. The Pentagon armour was the armour that Tony wore immediately prior to Extremis. It was a similar design, but it was actual armour instead of nanotech crap.

Actually the Pentagon armor is more bulky then the extremis armor (which I didn't like the bulk on the Pentagon armor) and the helmet is different.
