Can I just add, these machines are great for people with mobility & dexterity issues, arthritis etc, unable to knit or crochet. I understand some people feel it's not the same as knitting with needles & the time it takes creating with needles & crochet hooks but, for people who can't hold or use such tools to knit or crochet by hand, these are the next best things.

Hello from down 🦘under . I decided against the smaller machine. I have a 40 needle Sentro that I make baby beanies (newborns for local hospital - 60-70 rows) tube scarfs (for the homeless - just knit up 2 balls of wool without having to count) and dropped stitch infinity scarves for friends. Always use waste yarn after dropping so many stitches when I first started. I still handknit the bigger beanies to give me something to do if I'm watching TV or on the train etc. Enjoyed your video thank you.

@dizzyallison65202 жыл бұрын
Don’t take the yarn from the outside of the ball of wool/yarn. Find the end by poking your fingers gently into the ends of the ball to find the internal end. It may come out in a clump - once you get the feel you’ll find it a bit quicker and take less of the centre of the ball. Wrap test around the ball neatly. If you take it from the outside, the ball will roll over the floor as the yarn/wool is being used. This stops somewhat when you take it from the inside. And if you re-roll the ball with the ball maker, it will make that process easier too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a37Unqqvrb2pf9U

Yes, the tensioner is to help with tension but I find that holding the yarn in my left hand before it gets to the tensioner allows me to feel the yarn and make sure its running smoothly. What about the noise? Whereas the clicking of needles when you knit by hand is soothing, this one is super annoying. I know, I know, this is way quicker, but the moment you want to do a slightly more elaborate stitch, this takes almost the same time. And space! Girl, with three different sizes of that machine you need your whole table. Whereas a set of interchangeable needles (or even 10 different sizes needles) takes minimum space in a drawer.
@thecraftygrrl2 жыл бұрын
The noise isn't really too bad for me except on the first row but I usually have music on and singing at the top of my lungs anyway. hahah For my neurodivergent brain I get easily distracted so I have a hard time staying focused when I crochet and lose count all the time which is why I never even tried to hand knit. I LOVE crochet but could only do Amigurumi or super small projects and what I really want to do is larger pieces that I could customize. So for me, being able to machine knit 4 large panels in 2 hours gives me that creative flexible to do more design and custom finishing with crochet, sewing, or embellishments. I will always be in awe of those who can knit!!!
@amberhasselman49352 жыл бұрын
No hate, but hopefully you aren’t selling these for the same price that something handmade would go for. These machines are like a kick in the teeth for us fiber artists that still take the time to do it by hand.
@thecraftygrrl2 жыл бұрын
Oh I totally understand. The painstaking time it takes to hand knit is awe inspiring. I think of the knitting machine as a tool, like a sewing machine. Same with the knitting machine.
