Maybe in the US they are more open about it, but normally no business owner in Europe tells you their numbers on a sales call 3. Business Owners that make money over time with the clients have often a problem paying much for a Lead/Sale. (accountants, gym owners, financial advisors, etc.) total sale value = average monthly payment x average contract period "contract period" fluctuates that's why they think this calculation is insecure for them.

Much of what you’re saying here is a mindset issue, driven by false beliefs that have most likely come about due to working with the wrong types of clients. As for the hourly rate that’s up to you. I have some students charging $8,500 /month, others charging $15,000 /month. Both here in Australia and overseas. Note* $2,500 is a baseline that I recommend as entry level.
