This video easily surpasses most travel guide videos made with much higher production budgets. Amazing work, video footage, overall attention to detail and documentation of links provided in the description. I've been to Seoul many times before, but even I found some things I've overlooked in my prior travels. I've said this before and I'll say it again, the Korea Tourism Organization should sponsor this channel 👍

My husband came across this video while planning our next visit to Seoul. We have been back many times but wanting to know what is new, our search brought us to this channel. This is the best video we have watched when planning a trip to Seoul! The insight and knowledge of the areas, their history, backgrounds, tips only locals know, and all the additional information you would give to a friend visiting this amazing city are all here. This is an outstanding guide to the city you would only get after reading many guide books, and watching many videos. The visual of the areas and subway maps are very helpful. Wow. I think Seoul Tourism should work with you. Thank you so much~!

I lived and worked in Seoul for 11 years, and I think this video is a fantastic guide! It certainly hits the most important highlights of the city and a lot more. It covers some things I didn't even know about! Of course, Seoul is so big that there are many things that you can see and do that aren't mentioned here, depending on your interest or taste, but if you do even 75% of these recommendations, you will have a very good feel for Seoul and its version of Korean culture today. One suggestion (which might already be covered in another video?) is to offer some tips and strategies for people who have dietary restrictions (vegetarians and vegans). Seoul is swimming in great places to eat if you can eat anything, but if you don't eat meat or seafood, it can be very frustrating to have a whole street full of restaurants but realize there is nothing that you can eat at any of them!
@lostthenfound4 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words @ojotut! And as you certainly know from living here for 11 years, there are so many amazing areas in Seoul that aren't a part of this video as well, but a lot of these places are good for people new to Korea I think. Also thanks for the input about dietary restrictions. I am going to make a separate video just to make it easy for people to search for, as like you said there is no "easy" way to travel here with dietary restrictions, and I think it requires a specific guide to make it easier. Take care and thanks again!

I spent 9 months in Korea on a consulting gig back in 1999. I stayed in Seoul, working 3 days/week, then one day driving to Inchon and one day flying to Yosu. I had the weekends off, as well as the many one-day holidays (I remember there being something like 22 per year). I never ran out of new things to try in Seoul. Sorry for the multiple comments, but I have 2 suggestions for Gangnam: 1) Olympic Park which I enjoyed more than Seoul Forest and has a really cool history museum onsite; 2) Bangee (probably spelled it wrong) Food Market Street located between Lotte World Mall and Olympic Park. First half of the market is more modern and upscale and once you cross over the main street, the other side of the market is more old school Korean market feel. I found some really good places to eat in both sections worth checking out.

@JeonNick I speak Korean so it sounds weird to say 경복궁 Palace or 인왕산 Mountain, but that's how the names are officially translated into English for some reason instead of "Gyeongbok Palace" or "Mt. This video is so well done and articulated! My husband and I are considering visiting Seoul (will be our 3rd time, the last time was in 11/2019 and our visit was way too short! From what i see ... it appears there are alot of businesses, shops and restaurants that are thriving after the pandemic. This video shows that it may be worth the trip : )
@lostthenfoundАй бұрын
@kleelee2670 thank you so much! Tourism has increased quite a bit after the pandemic for sure. I think the levels are similar to 2019, but there seems to be a lot more Western tourists coming these days than before probably from the impact of K-pop and K-dramas. Hope you guys can make it back to Seoul and enjoy some more beautiful sights!

Amazing video! These tips were so helpful. I went to Seoul recently and most DMZ tours are running again just not to the blue houses and the actual border. It's stopped after the American soldier jumped the border and fled into North Korea. But the other tours are open again to the tunnel and the observatory etc., and it's still a very interesting tour to do.
@lostthenfound3 ай бұрын
@Heleenvk thank you so much! Really glad to hear that! Also thanks for giving us an update on the DMZ tours! I didn't realize that the soldier was on a tour when he defected. I wonder if they are going to stop doing the Panmunjom tours forever then? That's great to hear that the tour available now was still worth doing though!

I just got back from a two week trip to Busan and Seoul. Wonderful experience. As much as I saw on my trip, this video confirms there was more to see and I definitely will be returning. My fear is that it looks like an influx of tourists will be coming, which might ruin it for me. 😊
@lostthenfound4 ай бұрын
@qtrust really glad to hear you had an amazing experience! Also there are definitely a lot of tourists these days, especially at a lot of spots in this video. However, there are so many amazing spots in Seoul that aren't tourist heavy at all, and we'll make a separate video about some of them within the next few months hopefully!

Well there is a government tourism program right now that waives a K-ETA or a visa from several countries but that ends at the end of 2024.
