Seoul Light DDP 2024 Autumn will kick off on Thu, Aug. 29 to bring together Korea’s top artists to reimagine the works of groundbreaking abstract artist Kim Whanki.
It also celebrates the 10th anniversary of DDP with Invitation, an art project envisioning the future of DDP filled with possibilities
This free event will welcome citizens until Sun, Sep. 8, providing an opportunity to enjoy design, culture, and art in conjunction with Design & Art.
Seoul Light DDP 2024 Autumn will open on Thu, Aug. 29 as a massive media facade festival to illuminate the center of Seoul with a cacophony of colorful lights. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of DDP with the theme Future Log: Logging the Future With Light, this year’s event will harmonize significant moments that link the past, present, and future with light.
This year’s event will showcase Poetry of Time, a project that reinterprets the works of globally acclaimed Korean artist Kim Whanki. With videos and music produced and directed by media artist and Seoul National University professor Je BAAK and pop music producer Yun Sang, the project will translate the eternal time and formative poetry that Kim Whanki wanted to capture into media art with popular appeal.
Poetry of Time is followed by Invitation by a media art label ‘VERSEDAY.’ Celebrating the 10th anniversary of DDP, it sends out invitations across the world to visit DDP, which has consolidated its standing as a media art platform for countless aspiring artists.
Seoul Light DDP 2024 Autumn starts with an opening ceremony on Thu, Aug. 29, and the show returns every 30 minutes from 8 PM to 10 PM for 11 days until Sun, Sep. 8.
