I live in Seoul, and to me, the most must-go attractive place of Seoul is N Seoul Tower(Namsan tower) and a walk around Namsan mountain with those cool breeze and peaceful vibe. Especially I recommend you to go there at night. You can see the whole beautifully memorable night view of Seoul on the top observatory of the tower and even on terrace under the tower you can still enjoy the view. There is a kind of pub there so you can also enjoy the view with some beer. Beer and view, always best for me. And there are some restaurants of a Korean style big pork cotlet(Donggas or Donkasu, whatever!) around Namsan. Some might say they don't serve as much tasteful stuff as they used to do, but to me, still recommendable. Enjoy the trip and hope to make the most of every single minute in Korea :)

Steph, I can totally understand how you feel about jujube. Many Koreans (including myself) don't like it. It's interesting to hear how you described tastes of foreign street foods. I lived in Olathe for a while and I used to "describe tastes" of local American foods to my friends. But really, you cannot describe how something tastes, you've got to try yourself!

I love that you guys like rice cake. I'm with Stephanie. I'm Korean, living abroad, and even as a child, I was not fond of Yakwa much, even though it was a fancy Korean dessert. I also prefer soojeongkwa to like Stephanie, though both are dessert drinks the rich drank way back when. And yeah, I love makgeolli. I live the adventurous taste buds of Hays. What culinary training this is for him. I hope he remains as adventurous in food eating all his life.

Edit: i know these guys aint aussies but they reminded me of a bunch of aussie videos doin similar stuff. Everytime i see Aussies traveling to Korea, I noticed that they seem to act like they really like Korean food at first, but the more time passes and they get to eat „less mainstream“ food to foreigners, they always have this face that says „i really dont like it, but i dont wanna be rude. So im gonna force-smile into the camera“ but the smile just doesnt come out. 😂😂😂😂 its all good. U cant like every dish of a foreign culture. At least these guys cant contain their honesty. You can tell when they REALLY like something and when they dont.
@StephandPete2 жыл бұрын
Haha, too funny! We've never gotten a comparison to Aussies. I guess we don't mind being honest since we really didn't hate anything, and we loved SO much. Pete doesn't love the fish cakes, but I absolutely do. And I don't love certain sweets, but Pete will usually eat them. From this experience, tteokgalbi and crab stew were up there with some of the most delicious things we've ever eaten! We'll remember them for a long time. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

Me thinks this guy over estimates how hard it is to be a professional food tour guide lol. I give him an B+ for effort. The best part of the fish cake is the soup. Where's your soup?! lol The crab soup looked amazing though... he might have vindicated himself.

We didn’t get to go out at night much because Hays goes to bed early, but our next vlog will feature an evening out in Euljiro.
