Get Michael's friend to teach you some commands in French. Granted Elsa will respond to the tone of your voice but maybe being 17 years old -- French is her language. We once had a horse board in our pastures who would not follow commands. One of our neighbors was of French Canadian heritage -- was not the horse's owner -- but spoke to her in Quebec French. She would do anything he asked. We tracked back her ownership to a local French Canadian family who had sold her off around the age of 6 and they stated her training was in Quebec French. Her owners after that would sell her off because they felt she was untrainable -- but they spoke English. Once the mystery was solved -- after boarding with us -- she was sold to a family of French Canadian heritage and lived to a ripe old age on their farm.

Wonderful Sadie, each time you very kindly film Queenie we can see an improvement in her general condition, even though she has those dreadful worms! Neem oil YES, it stinks but very powerful nature stuff, you and your Mum are doing a grand job, thanks for sharing! 🙏 ☺️👍

You get used to the neem oil smell. I use it in the garden, it’s amazing for pests. I mix up a garden soap spray using water, Dr Bronner’s liquid castile soap (I use peppermint), and neem oil, using a ratio that I got from Epic Gardening. You can still smell the neem quite well even though it’s pretty dilute, but you can also smell the peppermint, and I find them to be very compatible smells. I have also had a neem wood comb from my hair that I bought in India. The smell was always in the wood! Very herbal smelling, didn’t mind it.

Don't ever feel bad for taking time off. It is much needed for all. Neem oil is smelly and sticky, but truly has all purpose properties. It smells a little like beef bouillon, but not in a good way. You can also mix neem oil with water for an awesome bug spray for flowers and veg. It just depends on the plant for how much neem oil and water is needed. It is useful to heat the neem oil and water up just a bit for better mixing in your spray bottle. It has saved a few of my own plants from naughty bugs!!! I learned this trick from a lovely ole hippie woman I used to hang with. Just thought I'd share. Thank you for all your wonderful videos!!!! Always lots of hard work at the Chateau! Prayers for Mo and family.

Hello Sadie. I love watching your videos with Queenie and Elsa especially training them. I am excited for the special oil to be put on them, despite the pong, to see how it helps heal Queenie coat; it looks so sore and Else's which seems less so. Elsa is very funny when she stubbornly refuses to move but also a pretty, sweet pony with a lovely carriage. Xxxx

Hi. Sadie! I love watching you work with Queenie and Elsa. They are so beautiful. Congratulations on figuring out the source of their skin irritation and treating them. Early Happy Birthday!

You are awesome! We had 2 thoroughbred horses years ago when my daughter was a teenager. They were a handful ... one was the paddock mate and she had no horse manners as she was hand reared. Not saying you need help at all but Steve Young horsemanship is a good vlog to watch about helping to iron out little tweaks and major headaches in horse behaviour. Every little bit of help sometimes can spark a solution to a problem. Wish I knew about his vlog years ago. Btw love Elsa sooo much she is a gem ! Ernest will love riding her.

Would Queenie relax more if you lengthen the rope? Why I ask is when I was younger I had a horse, bit of a drama queen and bossy in her teens/horse teens, she would pull and drag and not keep still when I kept her on a short leash, so to say. When I gave her space we built up a trust and really got on with some pretty good teamwork. It did not come in a day, so to speak, it took some time

I believe in being proactive as much as possible with health: good food, good water, clean air, getting enough rest, etc....like they say, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” In these times l like the old adage, “If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.” I avoid as much of the “health”care as I can.

If Elsa is trained in English style, she is controlled with gentle pressure on the reins. You pull back or out a bit on the right to get them to turn left, you do the same on that side. The reins attach to the bit which is fitting a metal bit in a natural opening in the teeth. To stop, you pull back on the reigns. When you’re riding there are more cues you use with your body. You must always use a light hand on the reins or you can get behavior issues.
