Damn this boss is irritating. Haha. You fight the good fight though it's never easy. Plus the fact that you don't get to look back and regroup to buff up your level. I wasn't able to get the new limit breaks which makes it a little harder.

the one's who show up is based on your decisions you make towards everyone during the game. The 1st one to show up is the one you have the best relationship with and this is represented based on who you talk to in Aerith's Garden in Chapter 14. If you choose the bad options for all dialogue options with the ladies over the course of the game then Barrett will show up 1st since Barrett is the default "you fucked up your friendships" option. The 2nd one to show up is the party member with whom you have the 2nd best relationship with, or rather if you choose the bad options for one of the ladies and choose all the good options for the other then Barrett will show up. If you choose all the good options for both Aerith and Tifa then both ladies will join you in the fight. It is quite possible to have both Aerith and Barrett join Cloud in this fight, making it the only place outside of the combat simulator to have Cloud, Aerith and Barrett on a story mode team.

I think this is partially true. I got the Aerith dream, but Tifa was the first to show up for me. Could be that you're guaranteed to get the 2 people with the highest affinity rating, but something else determines who shows up first?

.... at least 3 abilities for him. Counterstance, Parry and Punisher block worked wonders too. Also, Don’t linger too long on Aerith when you control her to build ATB, If you try to push for that second full tempest, Seph will make you pay dearly.

Just finished it. Only 1 trophy 🏆 away from Platinum! This video was very helpful in helping me defeat old Seph. Key 🔑 to note: Instead of Tifa, I got Barrett as the third member @ phase 3. Barrett was my support/healer tank. Seemed to work better with Cloud n Aerith against Seph. Steel skin ability was a plus. Skill master is a good utility as well since you know you’ll be rotating at Yes, I do believe that the battle results and performance in the harbinger battle dictates the characters you get to utilize agains Seph. I put an elemental+lightning on Cloud’s armor and it proved very helpful during Seph’s infusion stage. Cloud was basically getting healed the whole second half of that phase.

First off how do you parry in this game my guy only counters and then that’s it which would be fine but in stage what 5 or 6 of this freaking fight I can’t do anything to him he puts up just a wall of wind that does extreme and constant damage killing off my entire squad within seconds of approaching him…I feel there must be some special parry move I should be doing like a mikiri counter from sekiro….

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't septhiorth harder in the original game? Kinda hilarious that I found Rufus, Reno+Rude, Whisper Bahamut and the hell house all harder then the final boss. Hell house was the only time I switched to easy but even that I could've done eventually it just got tedious and I didn't have the best materia.

Blizzaga only freezes cloud I was able to dodge with Barrett. Block then dodge it That irritated me no end

If you put ice in your armor his blizzard attacks will actually heal you. Also in the whispers/Bahamut fight use Aerith as a healer ONLY, but go balls to the wall with Tifa. If you do this you’ll get Tifa and Barret to fight alongside you against Sephiroth. If you deliver a lot of damage with Aerith it will lockout Barret making the Sephiroth fight a trillion times harder. He’s damn near immune to magic and Aerith’s base attack is pretty much like throwing soft pillows lol. Give Cloud a heal materia and give Barret or Tifa a heal materia and go balls to the wall against Sephiroth.

Cast shiva right at the end that sorts him out. But u have to survive. I did him by not casting magic but use cloud to get stuck him to him and protect him with health

Whoa you have way different abilities than my character does…also you can’t block hells gate it just always does 500 damage which stun locks you into his next combo that does 460 lol he erases 1000 hp on my 3500 hp characters within 3 seconds lol this is almost as annoying as Elden ring was lol

@@hermanyuen4046 It's a checkpoint, not a full save. So if you quit the game, you'll start off at the portal after Motorball. But if you die against Sephiroth, you'll continue at the intro of his cutscene.

The second time because my ps go in to rest mode and did it on the third time. First time I met sephirouth it was Tifa who first came then Arieth. That was both times. But the third time it was Aerith then Barret and that is when I completed it

Ah that one is easy to miss. You need to steal from the second boss in the Train Graveyard, Eligor. He has the Bladed Staff for Aerith. This weapon has the ability Lustrous Shield.

Enemies award AP, which is used to level up materia. Having the cure materia equipped while fighting will make it level up eventually.

I'd love to, and maybe he'll be in my party when I reach this point in NG+, but you don't get to pick and choose who joins this fight. The general strategy, though, always involves Cloud using Punisher Mode and Counterstance, which is universal since Cloud will always be in your party. What you do with Barret/Aerith/Tifa is interchangeable.
