Enjoy The Silence is another song that became a Depeche staple. I like it when they do little variations at the beginning of the song because it leaves you in suspense, wondering, “what song is it!!!” As others have commented Fletch was going through a dark, depressed time during that tour. It was cute that Dave tried to cheer him up a bit by giving him a butt swat.

In fact that was what caused the severe depression that led him to abandon the extended tour '94, since what frustrated him and collapsed was that he couldn't fix things and felt that instead of improve the situation, he was making it worse

Absolutely love love love this performance and this song....Goes without saying!!! Everything just comes together so beautifully and perfectly here. I especially, in Devotional, the synth intro and guitar outro. Probably, above it all, I love the visuals used. For me, showing each band member with object/"thing" representing what they are to the band. Fletch is the Rock, Alan is the Heart, Martin is the Tree/the Roots-Strong yet able to move and bend with what happens (in life), Dave ... the Cross. Pretty self-explanatory. Gotta love that butt smack; whatever it takes get Fletch to smile! Cheers!!!

You have heard it with the guitar before this, the album version has guitar on it,lol Martin is full time on guitar during concerts for a long time now, This tour was the peak though having Alan still in the band. Unfortunately my first concert wasn't till after this,with the singles tour, but at least that one they didn't do the nonsense they do now with certain songs and the drummer. Fletch was having some issues during this tour with his mental health so may play in part why he wasnt smiling much. Glad to see this came out of the YT copyright jail.

I think the intro was taken from Ricki Tik Tik mix of ETS. I was expecting more of response to the cool slow background dissolve into each band member. This is the best live version, then probably Touring The Angel.

The Violation Tour version was very good too very different with its « dub house » break… Violation Tour was the more and last pure « electro» tour. I think too at Everything counts version for this tour and the final duet Behind the Wheel/Route 66 … Even if a soundboard has leaked (but not as good as the SOFAD Tour soundboards) it’s such a shame they never record or released an official live for it ! And i think, pretty sure they have somewhere some tapes recordings sadly. And they also have load on the official site a long time ago some very small video snippet from a US concert for all songs who could have been released entirely! It is on KZbin with all sniper together here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4uvlmeBqa6miZI It wasn’t of course recordings from the band staff in my memory but from the stadium who was recording the band while they played for the screens projections. Not a great quality but it would be for all fans around the world amazing to see a release one day…

The best performance of this tour is the 1st night in Frankfurt. Their voices are in better shape than in the soundboard (dodger stadium happended earlier than Europe, and they are better most of the time at the end of the tours), and the quality is very very good for an audiance recording.

Fletcher was suffering from depression at this point. Martin was in extremely bad shape from alcohol. David was on heroin. Only Alan was unaffected by all of this which is why he quit the band after this tour. When I saw this tour much later on a roadie was playing in his place while he sought treatment. Somehow they still delivered. My favorite band since 1984.

Even if Hydrology and 1+2 are great they are so « experimental » and difficult to react to for me. With Bloodline he really start his art. All his productions are so different to… Maybe « selected » would be a good choice to react. As a best of he resume all what he has done ;)
