Keep practicing with the cover stitch machine. I love mine. I’ve had a few years but was frightened of it at first. Then I watch a few KZbin tutorials and I love it now. Happy sewing

I love the garments you made your daughters.I’ve made the Cleo for two girls but not mad on wearing my own. I was very interested in your Day dress as have wanted to make it for ages. It’s very economical on fabric too and I have several 2 m cuts. I was unsure what size to cut too as between 3 and 4. Your vlog was super helpful. Thank you 🤗

Aaaah thank you so much - I love the Cleo - but I haven't made one for myself, as I'm unsure if it would suit me too. I would say that it would be better to do the larger size in the day dress and then adjust it after you have made it. Only tack together everything, including the darts, and try it on, you should be able to adjust it to fit. Really hope that helps, good luck, let me know how you get on. 🥰

I love all the makes, especially the ones for your daughter and her pumps😍I think the avid seamstress dress is probably more suited to spring summer due to the lighter colour and doesn't look particularly warm for the cooler months, but definitely keep it for next year.

That has got to be so fun to get a great shot of yourself in a darling dress you made. What was it Ike at first for you and how did you get to the place you are now? So comfortable, charming. I’d so appreciate any advice. I’m happy also to say that my sewing space is enormous, but just barely big enough for all of my stuff. I did a pano of my sewing machines the day I moved out of my moms and it’s obnoxious! When I first started I felt really embarrassed to speak in front of the camera, but then I realised, that no one else was seeing it until I was happy with it - so in actual fact you can record yourself as much as you like. Even now, I record myself once or twice at the start of a video - because I get tongue tied, or nervous. I say - just be yourself and go for it. What's the worst that could happen? I'm so excited for you - I can't wait to hear how you are getting on, and seeing your channel when it's up and running 🥰

Your Mom's pants are great. I love her smile! Ellen's dress will look so cute with grey or black tights or even exaggerated contrasting prints with boots! Ellen is quite the artist, I love her shoes! Amy's jumper is adorable, there again, tights and a long sleeve shirt she's ready for winter. You look amazing in the Coco! Once again, this one you can wear different coloured cardigans with tights and boots for winter to take this one through the winter months. How is your knitting project coming along?

I’ve made my own bias, and asked my ma’s advice before starting, make sure it’s good and wide she said! I thought I knew better and had a right struggle, so a word of advice lol. Make sure it’s wide enough, practice with a bit before you cut out yards, as I did !!

Lovely makes! Your day dress is lovely, do you think it's because the fabric is slightly stiff for the pattern!? Perhaps when you next wash it, put some fabric softener in and it might relax a little bit. I think it looks great though, an easy throw it on dress that's very versatile. Your girls dresses are fab and those shoes are just amazing! So talented. I loved the little label in Amy's Cleo 😃👍. Those water bottle covers would make lovely gifts. Thanks so much Karen. I was a bit nervous about sharing the day dress, as I wasn't 100% sure about it, but I do think now looking back at the video, and pictures, I really do quite like it. Lovely makes Angela, Ive made the Coco, ( I love mine too) the Agnes twice, two Cleo’s and a few Acacia pants. I might look at the Itch to stitch cami, I like the idea of a bed set. Do you mind me asking about your drawstring elastic that you used on your bottle, is that what it is called or is it regular elastic? Two out of my three sons has a bottle of that style and they take them to collage and school, so I might make a bottle bag for them. X

I'm curious as well. I have a bottle in that style obtained at a One Republic concert. I avoid using it so I won't scratch it up. I already have the toggles, fusible fleece and fabric but not the elastics. They look like they'd be good for face coverings as well.

Noemi R Thank you. My coat is finished other than sewing on the buttons. I’m popping into Hobbycraft this afternoon as I’m not entirely happy with the buttons I have at home. Unfortunately the pattern designer has told me that I can’t share my make on social until release day! I’m gutted! The Day Dress....do you think you need a full bust adjustment? I love the style and think it suits you just feel you need a bit more room at the bust. The horizontal lines in the pattern dip down quite a bit at the sides and should be parallel to the floor. Hope you're not offended, just hopefully something to think about x

Really not offended at all. I love to be able to give out advice and share my experiences, but I'm always happy to get advice too. I must say when I watched the video back , I had the same thought. I don't think that it helps that the dress is made from a slightly stiffer fabric. I may have a bit of a play though, before I make another one. Thank you 🥰

vans Deeley I was thinking the same thing about that dress and the last one with the cute knit fabric. When creases form above the bust it calls for an adjustment. Once you get a handle on the perfect adjustment you can apply that to many patterns. The rest of each pattern fits well in a size 3 and looks quite attractive but when a bust adjustment is needed it gives the impression that the dress is too small when it really is the perfect size. I love the makes and fabric choices. I am 68 yrs old and have been sewing since age 5, made most of my clothes from age 12 on, but now I need inspiration. new subbie, who was also quite timid about learning to use my Janome Coverpro machine! Thank goodness for the helpful KZbin videos.
