I had Instacart for years and NEVER went to the grocery store and loved it. I had 4 kids with me until the past couple of years they’ve been moving out. I cancelled it not long ago because my youngest (17) who still lives home loves to shop and Aldi, so he just picks up all the groceries and necessities! Win win! 🏆

What a wonderful video. My son goes back to school August 29th and I can't wait.

I forgot to mention August dates are very early for us given I live in Canada and we usually start after Labour day in September

My kids started school August 19th. Sooo we bought another car the other day… my husband messaged me a picture of my daughters dream car (an older Volvo model) for sale at $800 and it just went through inspection (which is once every 1-1,5 years) which means it’s in ok shape. It’s a manual and here in Sweden you have to choose if you want to have a ”full” drivers license in which case you can drive all cars or if you want a drivers license for only cars with automatic transmission (I belive you only have one kind in the US and then you have to learn how to drive manual by yourself?) anyway, it’s great because our kids have 20 km to the nearest busstop and we can’t always drive them. Our son has his license and our daughter can start learning in this car as well! Aaand I told my husband to offer $600 which they accepted so it feels like a total win!
@DearDebt2 ай бұрын
Wow that is amazing! We just have one drivers license here, but that totally makes sense to me. I feel like you should need to pass a test before driving a manual car hahaha I am very bad at it although I did “learn” when I was younger!

I would do Walmart+ but they don’t have everything I need/prefer so I always end up going to two grocery store 😩 And unfortunately I get meal ideas by walking around the grocery store sometimes lol terrible I know
@DearDebt2 ай бұрын
Agh yes that’s frustrating sometimes. Honestly at this point I plan around what Walmart has 😅 we usually go to Costco once a month too, and plan around things we can’t get at Walmart there 😆

I didn’t see any phone expenses listed-we need to budget $130 per month for phone and the kids' after-school activities, but it seems our expenses are about the same.

We use mint Mobile which we pay for annually 😃 $30/month for unlimited everything

Nice budget!! For our internet, I always go with the highest end plan since I work from home now and I’m paranoid that I’m gonna lose data 😂, but when I worked outside of home, I didn’t care what internet plan and would usually go for the lower or middle-end plan…
@DearDebt2 ай бұрын
We never really have had internet issues but I’m always curious if the best plan would like “shock” me and be amazing 😂

Thanks for sharing. Quick question regarding mortgage. Based on your monthly income (and I know your mortgage is probably including your property taxes and HOI), it looks like it makes up 35% of your monthly income. Is that with a newer mortgage interest rate or did you guys' lock into a cheaper rate from a few years back?
@DearDebt2 ай бұрын
Our mortgage includes taxes and insurance and our rate is just over 4%. We had an escrow shortage because we have a newer build and it took awhile for the taxes to “catch up”. Also our take home is purposely on the lower side because we contribute to our HSA and 401ks pretty heavily

Thinking about it. How much do you tip?
@DearDebt2 ай бұрын
I usually do a flat $5 for my regular weekly orders which are smaller but if for some reason we have a larger order or with heavy items I do $10 then.
