I'll be honest MB, I am not up to the challenge. 😂 I am definitely not taking part in this. It is a really great idea!!! I just can't bring myself to do it.Cool video discussing the strategy behind picking the one knife to carry! Great final choice!!!

I might give this a try. I'm thinking of a Pioneer Bantam, a Case mini-Trapper, a GEC 74 Stallion or an Explorer. Caveat: if I go on a canoe trip for a few days I will take them all plus what I need.

I've got a Hercules myself, it's the best by far for electronics thanks to the small pliers and awesome long Phillips driver. Awesome collection 👍

Thought provoking, thanks for another great video. If we define it as "one knife," I can cheat and carry a knife AND a Knifeless Rebar or a SwissCard Nail Care or Jetsetter or a Roxon S501U with a file or saw paired with the scissors. Even a Roxon Flex without a blade. I think you may have been thinking about it in terms of "one tool."

@@MB_EDC Tangent incoming. You can get A LOT done with the Milwaukee Fastback 6 in 1 paired with a Roxon S501U for scissors and file/saw and a pair of Knipex 100s or 125s. If I was limited to "one knife," I'd be VERY happy with this set up for September. Great little three tool kit with some spare bits. I REALLY like driving screws with that Milwaukee. Perfectly centered, locked in place and very ergonomic handle. And the utility blade is so easy to deploy. The Roxon S501U scissors are the best I have ever seen on a multitool. More like shears. Knipex makes incredible pliers of course. Every tool is exceptional save maybe the Roxon file and saw which are at least average. Throw in a Swiss Card NailCare in the wallet and I could go YEARS with that combination and not suffer any FOMO.

Great EDC set up. I love the Milwaukee 6in1. Just not legal carry on the UK due to the locking blade...🙁

Love the Farmer X & it is an excellent choice. Shifting from one foot to the other several times I would go with the Huntsman & likely doubt myself all month. The Huntsman with the back tools & tweezers toothpick is the reason. I like to carry one of those Firefly things either on the corkscrew or toothpick replacement. There might be away to stick a small Ferro Rod under something on the FarmerX & that would work too. Live in a rural area & home is 15 miles from town so a bit of survival gear important. If carrying a mini survival kit then I’m back to the FarmerX as I think it is a slightly more robust knife. Whew!

Victorinox Evowood 10. I love wooden handles and they are shaped nicely on this model. Don't need scissors as long as I have a blade but do need a cap lifter as a part time alcoholic. 😅 Just the right size for 5th pocket carry as it's not too heavy. Love the Alox range but find them too slippery when my hands get sweaty.😢

Great choice Ed. I don't have any of the wooden SAKs... Yet!! Even with my relatively minimalist EDC I seem to have 3 cap lifters on my person every day!! 🍺🍺🍺. Cheers.... I am hoping to start a live stream this week on EDC great and beer.... I'll put a post up soon...

That's a difficult challenge! I don't see too many taking it! I have a buddy, Dirk Werrning, & he's carried the same knife for a year! He may continue to see how long he can do it. Personally, I like more variety! Thanks for sharing a good bit of your collection!

Did a Randy! Love it! No way can I carry the same knife for entire month. Too many knives and at my age not enough time, no knife gets that much attention. And I think you've picked a multitool not a knife lol

I carried a Victorinox Explorer for a whole month earlier this year. I was buying too many knives, too compulsively, and I needed to remind myself that something simple with a sharp edge is all that's really needed for utility, everything else is just flavour.

Will take this up and will be either the SAK climber - although as modded probably not as seem a cheat 🤣🤣 so probably an old fashioned pen knife or the two blade SAK that is due any day as already ordered it. Will come back and post which I finally chose.

Decided on SAK bantam as this fits with an experiment I have been meaning to do - carry only what my father did. He was 31 when he married Mum in 1946 and I will carry what he did in the 1960’s when I was born. He had 1)a two bladed knife but had filled the point of one to make a screw driver. 2) A key case of just keys. 3) A wallet with photograph, money and a shortish length of fuse wire. 4) A piece of string 5) A coin purse 6) A pocket handkerchief NO credit card as he never had one. NO ATM card as the machines had not been invented. NO mobile phone as they were not invented

@@ajudygarlandfan3019 This is a great tribute. The bantam sounds perfect. Part of the reason I am doing the challenge is that My Grandad only had one knife... an old Army or navy one I think.... Most men only had one knife for their whole life if they looked after it...

Im too late to really participate, but does "only one knife" include multitools? I dont think I would have any issues sticking to 1 knife for a month, but I would have some real issues if that meant I couldnt carry a SAK or Leatherman type multitool along with it since I use those for gripping, pinching, scraping, prying and all that on a daily basis. And if they are exluded, would it still count if I find a bladeless multitool? Or take the blade out of one?

Great idea Elan! I keep my Hoto in a tool pouch in my work bag always. I need to check out the Fiskars scissors. I think it will give you chance to really cherish the knife you choose for the month...

Despite having plenty to choose from, it's been a Marbles copperhead every day for getting on for a year. We just get on, and let's face it, it's expendable. So, challenge cheerfully accepted. Were I to swap, there's a Boker congress currently on pencil sharpening duty which would do nicely ... but I won't.

@@MB_EDC Well.. It's a 20$ bad ass folder :D that grandpa gave it to me a lone time ago. Surprisingly well made one for it's price. First knife I learned how to sharp by myself. Regards from Poland.

@@MB_EDC 😂 Even if I were completely determined to do it, I’d still fail. What remains of my memory doesn’t even start kicking in until mid day. I’d give it a week before I forgot, and realize that I failed around dinner time.
