Honestly if you are motivated to play because of one song. This isn't a bad song to start with. It's not easy, but that can also be motivating. ("Haha, look at how hard the first song I learned is") also you will make progress faster. 3 weeks of piano and the you learn marry had a little lamb, plus maybe a scale or two that you'd never actually put into a performance? It's kind of demoralizing. This is a good song to start with because it's achievable. Even in a short time with dedicated sole practice. (And maybe some finger training exercises like hannon). A friend wanted to learn the same way as me (as I described below) but they wanted to start with Claire de lune. Bad choice only because Claire de lune is freaking sooo difficult. Deceptively difficult. I'd rather learn fantasie impromptu over lune. (And I have) also don't start with songs that have weird polyrhythms like Fantasie lol. Buuut learn the first section of this song? Maaaayyybe, but you'll definitely be able to at least play it so that someone could recognize the song you were shooting for. Especially if you only focus on one part. (Playing one part strongly is easier to recognize than a whole crappily played piece) Playing the whole thing slowly and carefully through is preferable though learning wise. But honestly this isn't how to learn best! It's how to learn at all. Because if you can't motivate yourself in any capacity then it doesn't matter if you *would* have practiced perfectly, you haven't practiced at all. So find the way that empowers you the most. Me, I was even more "stupid" first song I tried to learn was moonlight sonata 3rd movement. It has a very repetitive left hand, no chords, and is fast. All things I love in a piano song. It took me 6 months of almost *only* practicing the beginning to play it crappily. But damn it skyrocketed my playing ability. Practicing a much more difficult song first made many other medium songs accessable. The next song I tried to learn was Sibelius etude op 76 no 2. I wanted more pinky strength so I picked one that relied heavily on both pinkies. That one took a while too. Can't say for sure. Took a break for a day because I watched Her, and heard photograph by arcade fire. Absolutely gorgeous piano song. Learned it in like 3 days. 3 days!! Having only played piano for like 8 months at this point? I never thought I'd learn a song that quickly with both hands ever! So while I am learning the wrong way, the "right" way would lead me to never practicing at all sooo, I'll keep going. One thing though, definitely look into proper posture. Flex your core. Hold your head high, shoulders back but not rigid. Watch a video on proper finger transitions. When to thumb under and when not to (these will most likely be on scale videos) practice slowly, without mistakes as often as possible. (There is a point in some faster songs where you MUST play quickly because the muscles you use activate differently. "If you can play it slow you can play it fast" is bullshit. If you play a song slowly forever there are some walls you cant get past without thinking differently. Like in singing, that spot in your voice where you switch from low to high. The hitch they specifically excentuate in yodeling. Same goes for other muscles.) But definitely learn slowly. Without mistakes. With as proper fingers as possible. Make sure you are using the right fingers! Luckily this is easy to do because of all the tutorials showing people's hands. Another reason this song is good. Finger placement is either obvious, or doesn't matter much in this one. But again learn it! The best time to plant a tree is yesterday, and the second best time is today!

Amazing playing - I would love to play like this. You have a gift. Question... on the left hand when you play the part with the quavers (i.e G and C in first bar)...are you pressing the keys twice or does it mean to hold them for that time? I can't tell even watching you play. It's so good!
