We’re around same age, and yes, I immediately thought of the childhood ghost story of the ribbon around the woman’s neck :)

I am both a planner and a mood reader... luckily my "moods" last a long time lol... I usually have about 20 books at a time that I want to read that month, then as I go through the month I just pick from that stack (I read 8-12 books/month). Right now I'm deep into Horror and I love it!

The book from your childhood might have been from an easy reader by Alvin Schwartz titled In a Dark, Dark Room. One of the stories in that was The Green Ribbon.

I just started Delicate Condition. I heard it what the new season of American Horror Story is based on. It’s giving me Rosemary’s Baby in Hollywood vibes. I’m still at the beginning, so that could change.

Yes, I’d heard that too! Now I have to read it before I can watch the show. I need to read Rosemary’s Baby too! 😭

I am going to be reading Wonderland by Jennifer Hillier in October. I am looking forward to trying more by them if I enjoy it. I hope you have a wonderful month.

One of the few books I’ve read physically because it didn’t have an audiobook at the time. It’s a good one!

Just to warn you, Earthlings IS weird and also deals with CSA (but it is ostensibly not about pregnancy). The best comp I can really make for it is probably Bunny by Mona Award, with a touch more whimsy (though this doesn't make it a light read at all).

I read Finna through audio and I really liked it. REALLY good. If you liked Horrorstor, you'll like this, and as an added bonus, it's a novella. The second one is really good, too.

Ohhh I just got bridge from the library and I'm so intrigued by the multiverse aspect!!! I can't wait to see what the author does with it! I am SOOOO excited to hear both of your thoughts and review of Good Bad Girl!!!! 🙌💕💯 YESSSS omg I can't wait to see what you think of Delicate Condition (I thought it would be extremely triggering too but I swear it handled the gaslighting really well in a way that was actually palatable and didn't just infuriate me off the deep end lol!) Omg i JUST preordered a physical copy of A Haunting on a Hill because i loved a haunting of hill house so much, like i rarely buy a book before first reading it from the library ...let alone PREORDER!!! I am crossing all my fingers and toes that it doesn't let me down 😭🙌💕

I started Bridge yesterday, I’m liking it so far. It’s giving Blake crouch but more inclusive and from a woman’s POV. Glad to hear the gaslighting is done well in Delicate Condition. ❤️🙌🏻

The shining is classic King! You need to read that for the readathon. It is so much better than the movie. I’m currently reading King’s recent release Holly.

I absolutely don’t think Delicate Condition should be compared to The Silent Patient, but I think you might have a really good time with it. It’s wild!

I had a NetGalley of Delicate Condition and I kept pushing it off to the bottom of the stack (AND YES UGH it's triggering and uncomfortable in those specific gaslighty ways) but you know what? I really enjoyed it and I'm sorry that I kept procrastinating about it. And I am SO excited about the Liz Hand book. If you've not read anything by her yet, I HIGHLY recommend Wylding Hall! And I just looked up Finna at my library and they have it--wooo, love a good novella, can't wait!

Just started Delicate Condition (early 🤫) and it’s not getting to me yet, so we will see. And no, I’ve not read Liz Hand but I will absolutely add that to my TBR, Oh Wise One. 🙌🏻❤️

Hi, congratulations for your reviews. I have always followed your advice. I was really struck by the beauty of "Motion Detection", a thriller book that I found by chance on Amz while looking for a book by Freida McFadden. The cover intrigued me, it's an unusual book with a spectacular ending, I highly recommend it!
