I'm seeing a lot of comments complaining about this episode being different so... Guys, changing things up keeps me passionate about the work I do and it helps me to learn and grow. Also, while I always want you to enjoy TOTM, it is ultimately a project for me and future me. This format is how I wanted to convey my experiences and feelings this month. Please respect that. And this episode is not shorter because I couldn't be bothered, it was a conscious decision. Besides, it takes longer to edit a month of footage down to 11 minutes than to 30. I know not everything is for everyone. It's totally okay if you didn't like it. But please don't be so critical or entitled or assume I made it different because I'm lazy. That's simply not true. Thank you to everyone who watched it with an open mind and who appreciates the effort that went in. Thank you for your comments and tweets. Once again I'm touched by the support you show me and one another. xx

ChewingSand "Don't be so critical" So you only want to hear how everyone loves it? You were critical about Suicide Squad. There's nothing wrong with stating your opinion.
@CharlineOfficial8 жыл бұрын
I actually really like this format, Hazel. It's much easier to look at as it's not as long and I think there's more story to it now. Of course, it's still your decision to do things differently and I can't believe people don't respect that. It looks great and you did a wonderful job.
@champa-ox7co8 жыл бұрын

@TheHazelHayes8 жыл бұрын
+Master Like I said, it's fine if this isn't your cup of tea. But thinking someone is lazy for making a shorter piece is incorrect and thinking you're entitled to always be given the same length and format you want isn't fair. Also, my problem with Suicide Squad is that it was shit. If this were poorly shot or edited or made in general, then saying so would be fine. If I made a massive pile of shit, I would expect to be told so. But people aren't complaining that it's bad, they're complaining that it's different, and that's what bothers me.

I love TOTM so much. Since the start of September I've been in a really bad place. I got a pain in my arm and I just got worse and worse. The hospital still doesn't know what's up, and I've been vomiting and fainting from the pain. I've missed two and a half weeks of school, but I'm going back tomorrow (though the school has talked about me not doing full days), and if I'm honest I'm terrified. My mental health has gone down the drain, and I'm a mess and if I break down I'm front of my friends I'm not sure if I'll make it at all. I'm feeling awful right now, but in the middle of this stupid panic I got a notification for this video. I watched it and it felt like a reminder that people love me and that my friends won't judge me if I do break down in front of them, that I've got support and, if nothing else, this amazing online community. I've stopped crying now. Thank you, Hazel. You're a fucking incredible woman.

I don't normally comment, but I think this special episode deserves a little love. I adore TOTM, it's been with me through some hard times and some beautiful ones too, I think you're the bravest woman out there for your vulnerability and your honesty, and you make such wonderful videos, but I think this is gonna be my favourite one (dethroning last December, because your "Jazel is canon" revelation kinda made me cry like a baby, thank you very much). It's a grossly beautiful ode to your family, to Jack, to your friends, I mean, to love and to life. And don't even make me talk about the music. I'm crying so hard about this. Thank you for putting your life out there, for making us connect with you and your wonderful people, and for always trying new things. You're amazing.

As usual, I enjoyed this installment of TOTM. This style is very unique and different and I liked the way you structured it in parts, centred around the theme of love. However, I feel like it wasn't as personal, I didn't feel the same connection to this one that I have done to previous months. I personally much prefer the talk-to-camera style when vlogging, and your talks at the beginning and end of each episode which never fail to teach me extremely important life lessons and leave me in floods of tears. I also love being able to sit down for a long period of time so I can really put my feet up and relax while watching TOTM, but to me it felt like there wasn't time for that this time around

To me, this new format seems to be a natural evolution. At the end of the videos you always found a throughline that made itself apparent throughout the month in many forms. This is the same idea only more prominent. Only thing I can't figure out is why it seems everyone but me is crying by the end of the videos. Am I dead on the inside?

I always cry at these totm's videos because they just touch me in many different ways. I tend to cry easily at not just sad things but happy things too. It affects people different ways. It certainly doesn't mean you're dead inside or like the other poster stated, a drama queen, that's rather rude to even state that people that cry at emotional content, full of drama, so what if you cry or not, if affected you the way it did and for you, that is perfectly ok

I absolutely love this. It doesn't need to be 30 minutes long, or to have a spoken intro. It speaks for itself, and it's absolutely beautiful, and really touching. It really gets across all the different kinds of love that you have in your life, and how that love was expressed over the course of the month. Bravo, Hazel! I really think this is one of the best TOTMs yet.
