The Bone Witch trilogy is one of my favorite YA fantasy series. I love the main character and the sibling relationship that she has with her older brother. I also love the mentor relationship that she has with 2 characters and of course I really love the romance. Honestly cannot recommend it enough. The fantasy aspects are also very unique.

This is the third time in two days that I see Ninth Rain talked about...that has to be a sign for me to read it. I'm glad you enjoyed it and seriously we need more rant reviews from you 😂

I'm on the fourth book of the Iron Fey series and honestly I'm enjoying it much more than I thought I would! In my opinion, the books do get better. The romance is over the top and a bit ridiculous (just my opninon though!) but the story and the setting I personally found really engaging and fascinating. And I think Megan definitely grows as a character as the books progress :)

I'm trying to figure out when Ninth became a popular word to put in book titles? Great video! I'm certain that knowing someone who died in an accident makes you impervious to fear.

I didn't really love Ninth House either. A case of a book being overhyped? I found it disappointing. It has a great premise but the plot was slow. I'm still looking forward to the next book though!

Ninth house start really slow and confusing but turns out great! You have to get through the beginning and wait for the good stuff. I really loved it

Have you made a video on your tabbing of books? I find myself, the more I like a book, the more I tab. I usually stick to tabbing quotes that move me and passages that catch my attention as a possible foreshadowing of events to come.

I finnished Ninth House last week and I really liked it! It's not the fastest paced book and Alex is not the most compeling main character I've read, but I thought her personality was very interesting and the story too. It just had the tone I was looking for in a fall creepy book and took some turns at the end that I wasn't expencting^^ And if there's a sequel, that book can be even better than this one!
@ramihanna66844 жыл бұрын
The bone witch is an amazing book Yes it's slow in the third first book , but it progresses amazingly and the romance is very cool not cringy , and not important to the story . The magic system gets very interesting by the end of the first book and in books 2 and 3. The ending is amaaaaazing and Just perfect , it's as big as Sanderson's endings ..loved it 😍💘 and it made me cry 😭

I feel you, when it comes to "Ninth House". I think I got to page 150 or maybe a little less and just wasn't enjoying it. Not sure if I will force myself to continue it some time, because so many people LOVED it, or if I will just DNF and donate it...

How you are feeling about almost all the YA you’ve read recently is how I TOO have been feeling which is why I kinda am not really reading YA anymore. I’ve just been finding it’s seeming more and more juvenile than not anymore. There are still some YA that is really good but I’m finding it’s happening less and less

I’m honestly just not loving a lot of what I’m picking up this yea. Most of the adult fantasy has been a HUGE miss for me as well. Sorry you’ve been having bad luck too!

@@ebnovels aw sorry, I haven’t read any fantasy in the last 6 weeks as my friend and I are doing a spooky horror/thriller buddy read for fall so I’ll be ready to get back to fantasy in November. Maybe step away from your norm for a while? Pick up a sci-fi or a horror? Idk, it helps me sometimes.

I loved Ninth House and I'm sad it didn't click for you, so... imma just lie down and mourn your momentary DNF hahaha. :P The Bone Witch is suuuuper slow, so if you're in a slump it'd be majorly difficult to get through. I need to reread it to read the sequels so I'm going to try the audiobooks, hopefully they're good. :)

Also dnf'd Devouring Grey. Felt like it was so rushed, I didn't get to feel anything for the characters because we're already moving on. I also didn't really care about them though. And it wasn't scary or creepy at all.

Hi there. How are you doing? I wanted to let you know, that I have recently started listening to Warbreaker, by Brandon Sanderson, and I really like it.so, I will be jumping between Warbreaker, The Shadow Rising by Robert Jordan and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt. I am really enjoying all of them.

I read The Iron King back when it first came out, and I did enjoy it, enough that I read the rest of the series as they were published. I haven't bothered to reread the books since though and probably won't. I'm slightly confused about your definition of middle grade as I had understood it to mean kids aged about 8 to 12 (I'm British, we don't have middle grade) and I definitely would regard the series as being for teenagers, I wouldn't give it to my nephews (10 and 8) even without the swear words. Have I misunderstood the term?
@belleah55624 жыл бұрын

So is the iron king a "labrynith" retelling type story? Kidnapped brother, sister goes o save him, trickster fey (goblins), dark story but also told in a way for younger audiences, a love story that is weird and twisted.... etc.
