Natalie, I was cheering right along beside you while Jacob was working on that last huge rock!!!🤗🤗🤗 I’m neither a plumber nor an electrician, but have come across many short wires when replacing doorbells and wall HVAC thermostats during the 13 moves we made! Short wires are a NO NO! 🤬🤬 GREAT video! Good job!! Let’s get that septic in! 😻 🇺🇸MesquiteTX

So Jacob now that you have perfected your hole digging skills … what’s next swimming pool 😂😂. I see supervisor. Eli is on the job. He is so adorable and he’s such a hard worker. Love the end of the video.😂 it’s like a cliffhanger on a soap opera😂. Why isn’t the water running? What went wrong find out on the next episode of a boulder life off grid😂. Every step forward is progress. Notice that your to do list is getting shorter and shorter. The next step is the house. Blessings to you and your family.❤

I think you all need some troughs and rig them with a wide rim like an upside-down hat, and just use them to collect water for things like gardening, and washing the cars and such.

It would be funny if your hole filled up with rainwater and became a swimming pool. Thanks for sharing
@aboulderlifeoffgrid Жыл бұрын
Actually, there wasn't a single puddle down there. Once you go down 2 feet or more, the ground here is very porous and sucks up all the water. Which is great for septic systems. Thanks for watching. 🙂

You will need the sandy soil to bed the tank on so that nothing can pierce it, You will need the rocks to put in the leach field.

Hey guys you're doing good job I live in a 35 ft camper myself in Ohio I have a 6 gallon hot water heater that is electric and I have it running off of a switch along with a water pump I have heat tape or at least what I call heat tape I am planning on putting it on a switch as well also kind of figured you would have issues with the water system but I wanted you to find out like I did with this unit because I notice you did not put enough Teflon tape on the thread if you wrap the Teflon tape 8times you would have less water leaks which I am not building a house because I am living in a campground

Your hand sink drain will probably leak in the near future so before that happens you need to replace the silicone that you used and replace it with the correct application using "plumbers putty" , roll a small amount in your hands then place around the sink hole and place drain strainer on top then tighten from below, no leaks guaranteed. Your kids having used plasticine can help you with this job! Maybe an update on your solar charging, bulk, absorption, and float with conditions percentages of your batteries, maybe everything okay maybe improvement, knowledge is power.

I'm not an electrician, I'm a handyman, but the field that I learned first WAS electrical, having a master electrician for an uncle and I can absolutely relate when it comes to fighting excessively short wires. Endlessly irritating!
@dionh70 Жыл бұрын
Also, now I'm going to once again mention the jaw crusher to MAKE your own pea gravel instead of buying it. Dunno how much it runs per ton in your area, but the math has got to prove my point. Plus, I'm quite sure that you'd be able to sell it once you're finished using it.
@Mariekennedy74784 ай бұрын
It seems to be a Pattern with You Jacob; that you make living comfortable repairs for your Family 2nd and digging up boulders for stone walls 1st? I’ve never seen an electrician take this long to run and hook up power. And in between dig for more boulders; turn your property into a mud bowl. Then show on video; how your knowingly hooking up power half a - -! And putting your Families Saftey in danger!
@remushaynes2693 Жыл бұрын
the thought just occurred to me as to the cause! an electrician wants longer leads for ease of hookup whereas an electrical contractor (wanting to hold costs to a minimum) does not............g

My rule is...everything that is temo is allowable. Stuff regs. Question: are you guys in the US who live on homesteads ruled by normal suburband building regs? If so I find it absurd. It is your property right? Your own built (future) house right. In my country we follow the rules but no inspector will ever dare set his foot on my land. I can dig a 100ft hole and build a small mountain next to that hole and no one can do anything about it as long as I do not mess up the environment.
@aboulderlifeoffgrid Жыл бұрын
We are in the US. Yes, there are permits, codes, and regulations that need to be followed out here. With inspections. However, there is much less regulation out here verses trying to build in the city. Yes it is annoying, but at least it's at a minimum. Thanks for watching. 🙂
